After a loooong time, the planets and the wallet aligned and I was able to get the A7iii along with the Sony 24-105 F4 lens. I actually had the Nikon Z6 on loan for a couple of days and almost went for it, but I didn't like how the photos came out (they had a blueish hue to them which threw me off), so I ran home to mamma and stuck with Sony.

That said, now I have to spend even more money on:

Battery charger (charging on camera takes forever)
A flash unit
A second all purpose lens to complement the 24-105
A camera bag that will fit the stuff without being huge......figure body (with one lens attached), flash unit, and secondary lens as a minimum.

Recommendations on all of the above will be greatly appreciated.

Assuming money is a thing.

Flash unit:
If you want a small flash, I decided for the Godox TT350 - I have both a Sony and a Canon version. Works perfect.
I guess any flash by a reputable make like Godox or Nissin probably will be fine.

All purpose lens - do-it-all/tele?
Do-it-all lens: Tamron 28-200/2.8-5.6
Tele lens: Tamron 70-300/4.5-6.3 or Sigma 100-400/5-6.3

Camera bag:
That is personal. I moved to F-Stop lately, but those are EXPENSIVE! Some ThinkTank or Löwepro will be perfectly fine.

And welcome back from the dark side

I have no experience with GODOX, so cannot comment. I have a Nissin i40 that works well for me. Small, powerful for the size, and good remote-off camera capabilities. This and the i60 are no longer made, but can be found used.

All purpose lens? With the 24-105/4 as primary, personal choice would be for a fast prime, a 50/1.8 fills the bill well, though i like a bit wider 35/1.8 for walk around.Numerous choices from Sony and several 3rd party lens makers.

If tele is more what you want, I'd agree with addy on a 70-300 range as a good addition. I own the sigma 100-400/5-6,3 and like it, but find I don't travel with it very much due to size and weight. Just bought a used Sony 70-200/4 OSS (coming today!) as a preferred go everywhere tele.

Camera bag(s) will depend on what you settle on with other choices. Just make sure everything fits, with a bit extra room for accessories. I'm very partial to ThinkTank, and own numerous LowePro's in various sizes.

My major recommendation is to go to a store and try the bag before purchase, especially for a back pack or messenger style bag. Shoulder/back pain from getting the wrong bag takes a lot of enjoyment out of taking a camera wherever you want.
