Mestari that's terrible luck.Does make you wonder about build quality and QC of everything these days.
In saying that I got a very good price for the A7iii as I'd kept in silicone skin since day one and it was mint and stood up well. I hope I don't end up missing it

Unfortunately things like that happen. I had the same experience with seemingly reputable music store which sold me used CD advertised and priced as new. After I put a negative review due to no response from their end, they right out lied and commented the CD was new but defective (although it was working, but it had big mark from a thumb on a CD and used box with scratches) and I refused to get a refund (which was never offered).
I REALLY don't have much luck lately with my purchases...
I have had problems with CD's, vinyls, A7RV, the mic for it, 12-24GM, 24-70GM, charger for A7R batteries (came used from official dealer!), new phone and even food which came rotten on several occasions...
I hope I won't have to change my car anytime soon ;)

My copy randomly stops video recording, which has ruined the recording of my choir's performance and a few other recordings.
I was finally able to rule out the problem with either of SD cards, it was also not a mic's problem or image stabilisation unit. Something in the camera itself. It was there from day one but it is hard to reproduce every time.

Good luck with your case, I hope the rep assessment will work with ebay!

Enjoy your new lens and please show it off on here. I may be in the market for a new 50mm some point down the line.. I've bought from Ffordes and LCE and always had good experience.
I'm not buying another A7RV without warranty so need to reconsider options.

I feel a bit guilty as DPD have just delivered my Sony FE 50 f1.4 GM lens I traded from MPB, (absolutely as new) which will be used on my a7RM4a which I also got from MPB a couple of years ago, and also as new. All my stuff is used as mentioned before and I couldn't be happier with my decisions.

Good luck again with the Herbert who tried to pass off an obviously defective camera, saying it is a feature!! With 1700 positive feedback I'm surprised they wanted to risk their reputation.

They'll have trouble arguing against that evidence. Hoping it will be resolved very quickly and you can move on.

Sorry to hear it Mestari.Anything to be concerned about?

Had mine checked yesterday by the Sony rep at WEX who said the mount movement is not natural and would effect the dust and moisture sealing as well as light leaking and possible focal plane issues.
He allowed me to video him assessing this and I'll include this in my case when eBay step in tomorrow.

Thanks Brian.I've bought a few lenses from those types of sources 2nd hand and never had problems.
I had some £250 worth of eBay vouchers which made it enticing.
I spoke to WEX Glasgow today as it's a WEX origin camera and the manager said he didn't think the issue I was describing is normal.Their Sony rep is in tomorrow and I can speak to him, perhaps send a video of the issue to them or even take it in and perhaps to an independent repair shop for opinion if I have to.

Chris, please don't be put off buying used. I have bought all of my cameras and lenses used for the past five to six years as new models come with huge price tags these days. But I only buy from reputable businesses that offer a free warranty on all of their sales, such as MPB, WEX, LCE and Ffordes.

I'm sorry you are having a bad experience with yours and at least you have a dispute mechanism to fall back on. I hope it all works out in your favour.

Brian

Seller is saying this amount of play is normal in all his previous Sony cameras! Refusing the return and am having to go via dispute. At around 1700 positive feedback I expected better.
I haven't experienced this with any other A7 model and it's got to effect dust and moisture protection surely. As well as potentially light leaking and focal plane issues.

First and last second hand camera purchase for me I think.

I have had mine for few months now and I don't think I have noticed any lens wobbling.
