Hello!

Is there anybody here who managed to successfully run and use Dimage Transfer for Dynax 7D on windows 10?

I just checked Dimage Transfer manual and it is just an automatic picture transfer to your computer and display on the computer.

Yes, that is true, it has a fairly simple usage, but desired at the moment :)
I managed to run the application with compatibility mode, but still no connection to the camera.

Did you install the driver for your camera first ?

We're used to plug and play now when you connect up to a USB socket , but twenty years ago you had to install the driver first .
Everything came with a CD to do that , and before that the three and half inch floppy disk or whatever it was .

On a positive note, I can say that the Dimage Transfer worked in compatibility mode.

Ok, a bit of follow up on the topic.
I didn't manage to successfully transfer any images using Dimage Transfer straight to win 10 computer, buuuut... I ran win XP on a virtual machine (Virtual Box) and the computer-camera connection worked correctly. When I started the camera it got recognized as Konica Minolta Dynax 7D and the drivers installed themselves automatically. The setup takes around 30 min, but you need to have an older version of windows.

For me it looks like a drivers issue. On win 10 the camera was recognized as "other device (Konica Minolta dynax 7D)", but windows couldn't find any drivers for it.

Maybe I will try to trace the drivers on win XP and somehow transfer them to win 10, but this is for future and... maybe.

P.S. I also tried installing Dimage Transfer and usb drivers on win 10 without the integrity checks which are on by default.

I would say, "case closed" for now:) Thanks everybody for your input and engagement :)

Using Windows 10 can be a problem for lots of old gear (peripherals) and software.

Compatibility Mode helps most of the time, but not all of the time. If it doesn't, one approach is to try a different mode than what you would expect.

For example, I have some software that was designed for Windows XP, but would not run in Windows 10, even when I tried to run it in Compatibility Mode for XP -- and the Compatibility Wizard recommended the Compatibility Mode for XP. It took a while, but when I set the Compatibility Mode to Windows 7, the software works fine.

I have a printer -- designed for XP -- but there are no Windows 10 drivers. It runs fine with drivers for Windows 7.

But this is not a CURE-ALL. For example, Adobe Acrobat 5. Works fine in XP, but won't work at all in Windows 10 -- under any compatibility setting. There is a company that offers software to get it to work for $100.

All this is just one of the reasons I still have a Windows XP machine -- when I need to get something done!!!
