I wasn't able to participate in the semi abstract week, so my contributions ended a week ago.

Yep, challenge done, although I deliberately skipped the week 28 part as I didn't quite feel like limiting my creativity with limited focal length choice, but B&W was reasonably straight-forward despite that I haven't that often been using B&W and certainly not all the photos I took that week worked without colours. Abstracts were certainly the hardest part, but in the end I still managed to take each day something suitable despite that I sure wanted to take (and took) also photos that certainly cannot be classified as [semi-]abstracts.

Another challenge met - with the usual mixed success. I'm very pleased with a few shots - it will be interesting, as ever, to see if the voting agrees with me (unlikely).
28mm has never been my favourite prime length and abstract (semi or not) is not my comfort zone. At least we had a week of good old B&W in the middle! |

Okay, done. Just realized I said I used the Sigma MC-11 adaptor, but my Sigma 105/2.8 DG HSM OS is A-mount and I used the LA-EA3 - edited my posts.
I like my Sigma 105mm and should use it more.... |

Finally some more color into the abstract shots. I'm not used to that kind of photography so that challenge to me is a success no matter what the results are (it reached its goal to get me/us out of our comfort zone).

Where is the thread for Day 25?
Although I'm still bit unsure which photo to choose for today, it would be nice if there would be place to post it... |

Time to commment:
@Gregja - i like the viaduct image it's jumping out due to its complexity. @Harmvb - being on the road generates some slowdowns but i do see at least three images that are lovely. @Alanfrombangor - The trains are expected, and very well done indeed - but the other non-train images are also of high quality. I hope the fruits can be quickly harvested (to produce some more of this next week). @Pegelli - all that variation and good quality work - it must have taken a lot of your time to produce all this. @Phil Wood - both weeks have been productive. The choise between those images will be difficult. @Waldo_Posth - a first colorfull week with tons of variation and HQ - the b&w's are most portraits but even there you manage to differenciate. @Howard_S - A few classics, with modernism in between. I'm expecting something nice in the more abstract series. @Robbie - a lot of enjoyable images during week 1. We hope to see more. @Wilu - a first week with enlightning images indeed. @Hezu - a suksesfull b&w week. I enjoyed the images (the only one i'm finding true horror, but photographically fine, is the +40 degrees image). |

Today i managed to do some more inventory work on a part of the KW-linie of bunkers and i managed to find a few of them (smaller than expected to be honnest).
These smaller gunfire bunkers are located between Wijgmaal-bridge and Remy. Next week we'll post no more fortifications or complete concrete buildings - to make it a little bit more complex - and less boring for you all. |

No time for photography today so I've finished with another from Wednesday. I'll be away next week, enjoy week 3, I'll look forward to seeing what everyone produces. Now to pack and finish picking and freezing the blackcurrants.

WHen I got round to loading the test shots into my computer today, I decided that one was not all that bad - so I've swapped out the Wednesday shot and am back on pic-a-day. |

There are still a few KW-linie bunkers left in our neighbourhood, so will we post more? Every bunker is made on different specs (no matter what the wife thinks - historians and archeologists have proven this fact).

Yesterday (Thursday) was a bit of a disaster. I left home in a rush and didn't check my battery state (very very low). Decided to try a few street shots - took a couple of test shots, battery dead.
Normally this is not a problem, I carry a fully charged spare. Needless to say it wasn't in the usual pocket, or any other pocket. So I've used another Wednesday shot. |
