Geotagging with A7rV

I suppose this is something that most users don't use. I finally was able to have my A7III and A7rIIIa geotag fairly reliably in conjunction with the Imaging Edge app. So I tried to connect for geotagging with that app and my A7rV and it directed me to the Creator's App. This worked for my first shoot of UP's Big Boy, but thereafter it has not functioned and I can't figure out why. The app says its connected to the camera. I checked all the camera setting and they seem correct. The app has permissions to know my location. I have no idea why it stopped working.

This is the reason I preferred the built in GPS in my A99! Much less "brain damage"! And why does Sony keep changing apps? I think this is the third one since the introduction of the A7.

I read that Sony released a firmware update for the A7rV and then withdrew it because it caused some cameras to no longer boot up.

Does anyone have any ideas about all of this?

This morning I had more time to exam this problem. The new "Creators' App is very different than the older Imaging Edge App. Most of the newer cameras now use the Creators' App instead of Imaging Edge. I found a setting which I had overlooked for location information Linkage and it was turned off. I didn't turn it off, so I hope this is not some bug that is going cause me problems by shutting off randomly. We'll see. I need to study and learn all of the features that this app offers.
