Today's Santago event was rained out, so we are rescheduled for Sunday 26th August. Anybody who wants to come along is more than welcome. If anybody is interested, I can also schedule a trip to Cat Survival Trust as well. Numbers for CST are 4 to 8, if we decide a couple of dates, I can check them with the director.

Regards

Mark

I've got no idea what I'll be going in Aug, but I guess that day is free. And I'd love to join you all on the next cat shoot. Chance to bring the mother of all wild lenses: 300/2.8 for people to have a stroke, play, try.

Hi All,

Well, the trip to Santago is still on, so who is interested in a day with Leopards? :)

Here are the original details if anybody didn't catch them the first time.

The Santago Rare Leopard Project has a collection of about 15 Leopards and one Mountain Lion.

The aim of the project is to breed the rarer leopards. They have 1 African Leopard, 3 Persian Leopards, 4 melanistic (Black) leopards, 5-6 Clouded Leopards and 3-4(I think) Snow Leopards. I'm not exactly certain of the numbers at the moment as they occasionaly send.receive animals as part of breeding programs. They are one of only 4 places in Europe to successfully breed the clouded Leopard.

This project is entirely funded by the owner Peter James and his wife. All the money raised will go to supporting the project. Peter is quite well set up for photographers with cutouts in the cage mesh to allow you to put a lens through, there is also no outer wire safety fence so that you can get shots with nothing in the way. I have never heard of anybody being injured by the animals, but you do have to sign a release form.

The cost would be approximately L50 per person which includes tea, coffee and biscuits. Group size is between 8 and 20.

Regards

Mark

Bengeo,

Welcome aboard! I'm pretty certain we should make numbers, so I wouldn't worry about that.

Cheers

Do you think you could get your rep friend to come along with the new Sony toy too?

Craig,

Sadly not I'm afraid, if it was announced by then just possibly maybe, but all the rumors say first week of September for the announcement. :-(

But still, we can sit around and speculate! 12.4 MP and 6-7 FPS mmmmmmmmmmmmm!
