all reviews are subjective,
i wouldn't trust anyone who states that their's is 100% unbiased.

it's a good review.

Thanks Kiklop, interesting report.

Two things:
1) The "sample images forum" links to the page for 16-80.
2) In the box about the "planar" design, is the labelling of the lens group diagrams correct? Just going by the number of groups, the one on the left seems to be the ZF.
a700, 7D, CZ16-80, 17-35D, 24-105D, 20/2.8, 24/2.8, 35/2, 70-210/4.

great read,

thanks again, and I think actually you are quite good at shooting comparison photos for the rest to judge... nice lens, would love to have one, but I guess first I finish my studies, then I get a job, then...
the bokeh looks good to me, like it more than canon.
I hope you get the chance to compare it to the 135mm Zeiss, here in Taiwan both lenses are nearly the same price and I think the 135mm is even more tempting...

Thanks .. you are just too kind :)

Right after Zeiss lenses were announced i was most interested in 135/1.8; unfortunately, this lens hasn't arrived in Croatia and will be very hard to get one (unless Sony headquarters decide to give more equipment to our Croatian Sony office).

Yeah man, this review and your other reviews are awesome. For instance, even after reading the reviews for the CZ 16-80 on Photozone.de, I was still hesitating on picking up the lens. Once I read your take on the CZ 16-80, it pretty much tilted the scale and I picked up the lens a week after your release.

So keep it up, you'll be doing a disservice to your fans if you don't.

Oh and by the way, becase of your review, I sold all of my old PS2 games for my CZ 16-80. So in another sense you helped initiate something that I been wanting to do for some time.
