This topic is for discussion of possible meetings anywhere in Southern California. Dyxum members are invited to suggest meetings and make preliminary plans in this thread. Once you have settled on a venue and date/dates, PM me or any other admin/moderator about having a specific planned event thread set up (this makes your event more visible to other members!).

Keep an eye on regions that are near where you live and, if you are visiting somewhere that has a group, why not drop them a line in their regional thread?

An index of all the regional threads, planned meetings and resulting photographs can be found here

Yeah, I agree with 'eddyizm' -- I would love to see a Dyxum regional meeting thread for Southern California (and its sub-regions). There are literally 15+ million of people here, so I'm sure there are thousands of A-mount DSLR users.

Lots of ways to cut up Southern California:

-- L.A. and Orange County
-- San Diego
-- The "Inland Empire"
-- Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties

For me, let's meet in:

Southern California > L.A. > South Bay

I've gone for a title of 'Southern California' to begin with - if you think another name is more appropriate just drop me a line :-)

@eddyizm
Yeah, you're right -- cars and freeways are the way of life here.

Let's set up a time to meet in the coming months -- the inaugural Dyxum SoCal meeting!

I'm sure that at least 50% of the members in CA have the A700.

I know this is bad, but last time I was in the Anaheim Hills store they had asked if I wanted to put my new monitor on a no interest, no payment for one year Fry's card. They also had almost every Sony lens in stock to check out. CZ16-80 to both CZ 135s. They didn't have the 70-2002.8 though.
