These quartz crystals were on show in the Naturalis Museum in Leyden (NL)

This is the statute of Hendrik Conscience, a very well known Flemish hero who lived from 1812 to 1883.
During his life he was teacher, writer, director, recorder, editor, commissioner and museum keeper.
He tought reading to all levels of the population which was something rare for the time he lived in.
Of his most famous book "De Leeuw van Vlaanderen" (The Lion of Flanders) a film was made.
For those of you who speak Dutch there's a lot more detail that can be found here
This statue that was raised in his honor is in front of the city library in Antwerp.
