What a nice birthday present, yes its my birthday today, just got in after a nice meal with my wife to find this. A nice end to a great day.

My total commiserations to Stoney and whitecat for 'Evening sun' and 'A walk in the woods' I knew it was close and after a count I find Stoney and whitecat equal runners-up only 2 pts behind.. Brilliant images guys either would have been a worthy winner. Congratulations to all other finalists for a superb collection.

Finally thanks to all who took the trouble to vote, we all meet again in the next DPC ? good luck.

Roy

Congratulations, Roy! Was this picture taken around the same time as your DPC#43 winner ("Buoy on the loch")?

Oh, and belated happy birthday!

I had such a hard time choosing who to give my votes for this one, and it seems like I wasn't the only one! Congrats to Roy. Comiserations to stoney and whitecat. All three would've made worthy winners.

Thanks guys, I appreciate this.

dilettante, Yes both pictures taken during a holiday in Scotland in the Autumn. I purchased the A700 (in a hurry) from digital-rev because I wanted to take it to Scotland to 'get to know it' I believe my A100 was/is just as capable of taking these pictures but I doubt I would have been as motivated to get out of a warm bed in the early morning for the "Buoy on the Loch" photo. No regrets at all re buying it early even though the price in the UK is now lower than I paid.

Stony & whitecat were unlucky, to only have 2 pts separating top 3 places whew !.

Roy
p.s dilettante, looks like you got a winner in the 'Username' DPC. Well done.
