I am weak, and the Sony is strong. LineUpUpdate number 1239459238549081725304l54858633

In Nikon (the yellow corner):
D200
24/1.8
from Mr Sigma
50/1.8
85/1.8
180/2.8

... and a walkabout 18-70/3.5-4.5 AF-S in the post
... Nikky is the main tool for me, but

In Sony (the red corner):
α100
2.8/16 FishEye
... that lens has a lot to answer for, it kept me from quiting the system and the Dyxum
2.8/100 Macro ... heck why replace it?
... the iddy biddy, cinnamon strapped, α100 lives on - thanks to the import price I paid for the best FishEye lens the world has ever seen, my NIkon D200 will soon be on drugs when the MB-D200 gets bolted to its bottom

(oly stuff was fun to see the different stuff out there but its a gonna soon)

What for the future ... perhaps the Nikkor 10.5 FishEye to join the α100's 16 cropped Fishy - who else can deliver the Fish images on a double system? I have a FishEye web domain reserved and ready for something very special (project)
I can still remember how that music used to make me smile

Minolta Digial Camera

Dynax 7D- I had the Maxxum 5D, sold it to get the Maxxum 7D, got black frame issues, sold lenses to buy the A100 while the 7D got repaired and then sold it. I missed the knobs, buttons and most of all the size. I traded the A100 (plus cash) for a Dynax 7D with grip and extra batteries.

VC-7D- A must have. Large hands and double battery, I really need it.

Minolta Primes

20mm f2.8 original- Sold and had to buy again
35mm f2 original- Super sharp, a must have
85mm f1.4 original- Had it, almost sold it, sold G D version instead, sold it, and had to buy it again. This is constantly mounted on my 7D
300mm f2.8 HS G- This is one that doesn't get used a lot but I do have plans to use it more, soon.
2x APO II- Makes my 300/2.8 a 600/5.6 Awesome! (for me anyway)

Minolta Zooms

28-75mm f2.8 D- Came with the 7D. Sold it on ebay and got another one. Sold it again and replaced it with the 24-105 but losing the f2.8 was too much to handle, so I bought it agian.
80-200mm f2.8- This is the original version. I had the HS version and it was certainly nice. I didn't need the HS and this being black kept it more discrete.

Lenses that I miss (a lot)

135mm f2.8
100mm f2
100mm f2.8 Macro

Lenses that I want (that I've never used)

16mm Fisheye
200mm f2.8

Well, I have made some changes to my lineup by way of additions.

It now consists of:

Minolta Film Cameras + Accessories

Maxxum 5 + BP-200
Dynax 7 + VC-7

Minolta Digial Camera + Accessory

Dynax 7D- The story is the same as above.

VC-7D- Still a must have.

Minolta Flashes

3600 hs D
5600 hs D

Minolta Primes

16mm Fisheye- Very fun to use on digital and film. Still getting used to it.
20mm f2.8 original- Sold and had to buy again
35mm f2 original- Super sharp, a must have
50mm f1.7 RS- Excellent lens for its money. The rubber focus ring is worth the extra few bucks if you have a choice.
85mm f1.4 original- This is STILL mounted on my 7D 90% of the time.
100mm f2.8 RS Macro- This is super sharp and able to get the close-up shots like no other lens (IMHO)
200mm f2.8 HS G- Much smaller than expected. Great size for keeping it in the bag with the rest of the gear waiting to be used and then using it.
300mm f2.8 HS G- Still not enough use but the plans to use it more are still there.
2x APO II- Turns my 200/2.8 into a 400/5.6 and my 300/2.8 a 600/5.6 Awesome! (for me anyway)

Minolta Zooms

28-75mm f2.8 D- I'm not a huge zoom person anymore (pre-digital I was) This is the lens that I put on when my wife needs to use the camera. It is still a great lens.
80-200mm f2.8- Still not a huge zoom fan but I love this lens. It hasn't been on the camera much because I use it mostly for my kids sports. Baseball season is over, soccer is over football has just started (only practices so far) and hockey has not started yet.

Lenses that I've had and still miss (a lot)

135mm f2.8- I may get a Rokkor to use with my adaptor that I have.????
100mm f2- Still keeping my eyes open for this one.

I gotta admit it makes things a lot easier. Probably the best part is that with some explanation she has a concept of what advantage or capability the next toy, oh sorry, tool will bring to the table.

But I'm not blind. The fact she sees a bedroom set coming in the relatively near future has also lightened the mood a bit :).

I haven't updated in a while.

5D
18-70
28-70/2.8
50/1.7
70-210/4
100-300 APO

+ other bits and pieces.

Aim to migrate over the next 12 months to:

CZ 16-80
Sony 70-200
Tamron 90 macro.
TC 1.4 and 2

For everyday shooting only two lenses are required. The TC/s gives enough length for sports. Then it is just a matter of which body to provide the best match for sports shooting.

The only fly in the ointment is the CZ is a DT lens which means it won't be any good for full frame sensors but no doubt Sony have that covered.

A decent flash is required as well although that's not really a priority. That should be a good place to stop for a while I think although I want some of the older glass for occasional use as well. I just love the look and feel of images taken with the old lenses.

Haven't updated this for some time too, this is what I use at the moment

Camera:
7D

Zooms:

KM 11-18 (Does not get a lot of use)
CZ 16-80 ( My standard lens for outside, love it)
S 70-200 SSM ( great lens for portraits, the kids outside, inside & other action)

Primes:

M 35/2 original ( standard lens for inside, great at ISO 800/1600 & F2)
M 100/2 ( for the special (portrait) shots, get's less use since the SSM)
T 90/2.8 Di (my macro, has not seen a lot of action lately)

Stuff I don't use (anymore) and intend to sell:
M 24-85, nice lens, good value for the money, but made obsolete by the 16-80
M 100-200, bought recently in search of a low weight zoom, but quality wise I think I've gotten spoiled

Wishlist:

Not much left, It's been pretty stable lately
- 7D replacement, not an immedeate priority, but when the A10 turns out to be proven pretty good, looking at D200/300 too
- flash replacement of the 3600 HS, low priority, first a new body
- M/KM/Sony 1.4TC, only if I can get a 2nd hand bargain.
- Special fast focus edition of the Tamron 18 - 250

Jan.
