Current lineup, though I have the itch to make a few changes:
-Beercan -Minolta 24-70 F2.8 -Sigma 20-40 F2.8 -Sigma 105 F2.8 Macro -Tamron 11-18 -Minolta 300 F4 It's been very functional for me so far but I find myself using the Tamron, macro, and 300/4 more than the remaining three lenses. Might start searching for a 400mm and a 70-200 F2.8 (Sigma or G, not sure), and sell the Beercan and 20-40. |

Yours is a lineup of sheer quality over quantity. We have many matches but I would add the 17-35G, 35 1.4 and 400G you have to my collection in a heartbeat if I had the chance. Anyway, glad I made you feel better - Brettania offered a similar sentiment a couple of Lineups ago because I was "nearly" as bad as him! But not yet! My bank manager thinks my lineup sucks but what does he know? |

At the moment, my lineup hasn't changed in a while, but the A700 has me thinking a bit more seriously about "settling down" with APS-C ... I should be able to check out the CZ16-80 in person next month (going to Photoplus Expo in NYC & should see it there or at B&H). And the new 70-300 seems like an intriguing alternative to the 100-300 APO (which is a nice enough lens in its own right, so I'd have to see just how good the 70-300 is ... but if it improves AF, is sharp wide open, and priced not too outrageously, could be nice ... 100mm can be a tad long when I'm shooting kids with the 100-300 and they get close). So thinking of the following ("future" column is what I'd have and "full frame" is just thinking for fun :)
Basically, I'd be upgrading from 17-35D and 100-300APO to CZ16-80 and 70-300G for some tweaks. If I do this, I may end up upgrading the lineup before getting an A700 (since I have no idea when I'll go for that yet). Edited by CTYankee - 10 September 2007 at 17:56 |

Well, first, I say that FF considerations are "for fun" since I have no idea if I'll ever get there :) Second, the 400 (along with the 1.4X) served me well enough on film. Well enough that I wouldn't consider spending the money and hauling the weight of anything bigger. And I figure I could always crop :) |
