Okapi - black cockatoos are quite common in our city. They fly in groups of 5 - 20. From memory, this was a group of five or six. Yes, our great cormorants are very similar to those in other parts of the world. Luis has posted a few too from USA.

You have the same birds who don't like photographist too much Frank.
Your geat cormoran is the same as ours it seems, the black cockatoos are birds in the land or they came where the man is living? I've never seen them before in picture as I remenber.

I wasn't planning to go, but I wound up at the goose races...

A100; Sony 75-300mm (210mm); ISO 125; f5.6; 1/320th

I think the one on the right is getting an assist from the wind so his time won't count as a record.

Anyway I am not that good at PP, I could spend much more time on variations of the same shot before I get it right.

Luis, I followied the link and found myself scrolling through your birds album. WOW am I humbled. I particularly liked the Stilt family. Keep up the good work!

For #1 a vertical shot may have been better as there is a reflection with no body at the top. Also try to position your main subject somewhat off-center. Suggest you look at Photo Assignment #1 for starters. Bob J will soon be posting an "intro" to composition.

A vertical format may have helped with #2 as well where it would have got the legs in shot.

I got a call on a rare gull for our area, Franklin Gull. I went over and got a few (140+) as the bird was cooperative and came to feed with the laughing gulls. Also a couple Ring Bills have returned for the winter.
