Dear Dyxumers,

Confusedapollo contacted me proposing to produce "Embroidery Patch" for Dyxum.com - as shown below

The idea behind this is that "Golden Color Patch" (or "Golden Patch Of Honour") will be awarded to future Dyxum Photo Contest winners. It means that starting from some DPC each DPC winner will get the Golden Patch which will be sent to her/him for free.

As Confusedapollo said:
The reason of doing this is just my way of me giving back to Dyxum and second is to "stimulate" more photo enthusiast, newbies, or etc to take part in the DPC challenge. This reward will definitely put everyone, in the mind set of trying their best in capturing the most outstanding picture possible, to win the contest. The patch can be attach to a shirt or places of your choice such as camera bag, hat, etc.

Confusedapollo's plan is to produce 50 such patches costing quite a few bucks which he generously offered to take on himself. However to cover at least part of these expenses (cost of producing patches and sending them to DPC winners) he decided to produce also the "Orange Color Patch" and make it available to all interested Dyxumers at a moderate cost of $5 (+ shipping + paypal fees). Selling about 80 Orange Patches should balance the overall cost of this project. Please note that the Golden Patch will remain reserved for DPC winners and will not be available for selling.

So, now it's time for a few questions:

* How do you like the idea?

* Would you buy an Orange Patch to help in covering expenses? How many?

Best regards,
MiPr

p.s.
Patches are sized 2.23"x2.7" (or 5.7x6.9 cm)
Shipping fees are around $0.59 for US and $1.80 overseas.

Are the patches glue backed? Not a big deal for US based if not, you could always visit a Boy Scout store and pick up Patch Magic which applies a two sided glue to a patch that you then use an iron to "seal" it to your bag, etc...works very well. Eliminates the need to sew them on.

I'd buy 2 or 3 of them, I have a few bags I'd put them on.

p.s.
Glad to see my logo design getting some good use.

The patches is without back adhesive. But can be sewn/stitched by hand.

I don't get the x following the a.

I would buy one, but I work for a company that produces this sort of thing... Maybe I'd buy 1 to support the site because that is a worthy cause. It is a good idea for sure.

Xs are a big part of the Minolta heritage and quite nostalgic after the loss of a huge court battle over the rights to use crossed Xs on Maxxum lenses with Exxon Corp. We like our X in Dynax too.

I'd like to think our Sony members embrace Minolta X history as part of the A mount takeover not to be forgotten. AX

Another cool idea, I would buy one for sure for my bag. Just a thought I am tossing out here, what about a round patch? Can ball caps be far behind?

Very cool!

Would previous winners be given the option of buying a gold patch? I'd have an orange one either way.
