Nice set Luisv. I think the scaup turned out fine, better to get most of the dark plumage correct than a bit of the white plumage. Love the little Yellowthroat, Im finding the smaller the bird the harder it is to catch.
I found the 600mm to be very picky with focus on the A700, sometimes its difficult to judge the correct focus point. And if you manual focus, a 1mm rotation of the focus ring is quite a big shift in field of focus. My 300mm is much easier to use.
How do you find the 400mm?

Very lovely set Luisv. I especially like the ducks.
Gray cloudy shot of a pair of wild monk parakeets on the power line.
Happy 1st day of Winter everyone

Finally got a chance to take out the 600/4 again;
1. Start with a trouble maker
2. Then a bigger trouble maker
3. Now a curious bird
4. That suddenly got shy and hid behind a tree
5. A bird which runs into the bushes whenever I point the lens at it
6. A man made bird (couldnt help myself and try), I believe from the species JetStar

If the sky is your background you use the AF-C mode and the AF-area is set to wide, you will not miss a single shot

Mike,
I envy you. I have to travel 100 miles to get within a 100 yards of the cranes, which quickly take off because they done like having people around...
and you go shoot one with a 50mm lens and a flash!
Anyway, back to our regular programming...
I realized that most of the stuff I posted last week was underexposed, so I decided to reprocessed them and post a couple of them.
1. Flying coot
2. Recropped hummer

I have this guy and his wife/partner who come around a couple times a week bumming whatever they find under the bird feeder. Of course being the nice guy I am I add a little under there for them.
OK Brian here's my feeder shot with 17-50mm Tamron. (Sand Hill Crane)
