Hmmm. Confusing to say the least.

It's good they're dumping the kitlens, but the 28-75mm f/2.8 seems.... unnecessary. I know we'll all think they're insane, but I suppose they have the internal sales numbers we lack. It's tough to remember we are the extreme minority of people who really want a 24-105mm f/4 (which I'm still pissed about missing).

The 50mm f/1.8 seems like an excellent idea. Let us not forget this is an excellent portrait lens on the APS-C and the 50mm f/1.4 is actually quite reasonably priced now.

The 30mm f/2.8? That just seems stupid.
Sony NEX-7 and a billion old lenses.

Why number 6? A strange move I would have thought. Time will tell if this is another hoax but I hope so, where's the 24-105G?

Bout time they updated the kit lens, but that doesn't matter for us existing users.

1. No comment since I wouldn't be able to afford it anyways.
2. Why o why a DT lens? Why not a dirty cheap FF 50/1.8 like every other brands?
3. 30mm is too short for my macro work, even on APS cameras.
4. To pair up with 5? That might be a good idea.
5. Ditto
6. Is this Sony or just a resurfacing Tamron?

Not much info to go on.

#1 If Sony's current super telephoto is the 500mm mirror lens, would this refer to a conventional 500mm lens?

#2 The Minolta 50/1.7 seems very popular, maybe Sony thinks it's a hole in their catalog. With their limited lens selection, why produce this lens when they have the 50/1.4 ?

#3 I don't see any forum posts seeking this lens.

#4 I hope this is a typo. It would make sense if it was a 2.8

#5 Why list this at all?

#6 I'd prefer an 18-55 or 24-70.
A700+VG, too many toys.

#6 makes sense because not everyone can afford the $2000 Carl Zeiss version. The same way that there is a 75-300 and a 70-300G. Same range, different buyer.

It is a;so starting at 28 instead of 24 because it is easier, and cheaper to simply rebadge the Tamron.

Ahh, you beat me on this one. It's weird to see such a classic lens in APS format.. why didn't they just make a 35/1.8 DT like Nikon did???

55-200 has already been available for quite awhile... or could this be an original Sony design?

2-6 might make sense if they are super cheap.

I don't really believe that. 50mm not FF, 30mm f/2.8 macro, 55-200mm which already exist, Super Telephoto Lens with no specification. I don't think it is serious. Let's wait few more day...
