Well, we managed to get out to the Reifel bird sanctuary. 4 of us got together: myself, coyote1086, 800si, and brooker T.

I had a good time; it was nice meeting some fellow Dyxum members and hanging out. Looking forward to the next time.

Here's a few of my favs...(with either my Tokina 80-400 AT-X, coyote1086's Min 200 2.8, or brooker T's Tamron 200-400)

#1 is amazing which I could never get with my A100.

I had a great time meeting fellow dyxumers ... later on we re-united with Aplsoandso and bumped into Vancouver too.

I'll post my pics later.

Great pictures, really love 1, 2 and 5. Great detail, sharpness and exposure of all of them is spot on.

It was a great weekend for Dyxum: A Vancouver meet as well as a Benelux meet (with a Czech and a Belarus family). I find these meetings really inspiring and am looking forward to more from you guys.
You can see the April Foolishness 2023 exhibition here Another great show of the talent we have on Dyxum

I had a great time! Below are my shots. Didn't use the A700 much. All the below shots are with the Nikon D300 + 400mm f2.8 VR.

Abbotsford Airshow, August 7,8,9 next???

There are many different kinds of birds/ducks, I never knew shooting birds could be fun, as it is very hard to shoot BIF with A100. During the gathering, I tried the Tokina 80-400 and Tamron 200-400, both have good sharpness and they are not too heavy. I also encountered "System Error" and drained my battery.

Here are my better shots

#1 Heron

#2 Crane, like everyone else

#3

#4

#5 Very colorful duck, my setting was at F7.1, and shutter speed is slow

#7

#8

#9 BIF, by using BrookerT's Tamron 200-400

#12 The crew ... look at 800si's big Nikon lens

Great shots guys, wish I could have come. It was the last day of spring break so it was family day for me.

Sam, your beercan is very good, and with the A700, the pictures are great and sharp.

@ Vancouver

Have a look at your post (using the drop down menu from "Post options" and see how the URL is "formed" for posting a pic. It must end with ".jpg"

Absolutely unacceptable. You'd better not diss your Dyxum family next time, or else we go to your house and umm, err, soap your windows!

I happened to be napping with my family last Sunday afternoon. And a good nap it was!

Man, you guys make me want to buy a long lens. I just bought a 17-35mm wide angle when I was down in Portland last week! I think my wife would kill me if I dumped a few hundred more dollars into buying another lens!!!

Hmmm, well taxes are due soon - maybe I'll be getting a nice refund from good 'ol Ottawa?

I need to make it out to the next shoot.

LaterZ!
Darren!!
