Great work guys.

Here's a contribution from yesterday in the backyard of the friend's place where we're currently parked up.

Thanks Frank. I'm still testing the 70/400G but can't seem to get it as sharp as my 70/300. I also seem to lose quality when I put them through Hellicon. Guess I'm going to have to get Photoshop/Elements if I'm going to keep doing this birding game. Like you say it does become a bit obsessive!!

Don't know what happened to the above, I'll try again. Three originals, pity I missed the lift off.

This is how the above should have been, liked the wing shadow.

Lovely hummer set Jason. You've captured some lovely lighting in the eyes. Which ones did you take with the different gear?

Frank

PS - I may as well post a couple.....

I have been visiting this Rufous Hummingbird nest for the past 3 weeks now, watching the chicks grow. They're ready to fledge, and they'll probably be all grown up and gone the next time I can make it out, but here are a few of my favourites. Photos taken with A700 + 200mm f2.8 APO G HS and D300 with 400mm f2.8 VR or 500mm f4 AF-S. I hope you find them as interesting as I did!

The bird and the bee.

Waiting patiently for Mommy to come back..

"Oooooo...is that Mommy?"

"Yay! Food!"

Thanks for looking!
