I saw the a33 for sale on German e-bay and would love to hear from anyone with hands-on experiences! Hopefully we can get real-world reports of high ISO quality, actual light loss, or just general opinions of the new technology.
I have read all the generalizations, and previews now I want some real world facts! Please post as soon as you buy! Dan |

I have gotten my a33 on 1st sep here in singapore.
Tested it for few days and here's some non-technical findings: - A33 seems to have higher noise level from iso800 onwards compared to my Nex5 which shares the same sensor. - I observe that Nex5 easily has 1 stop advantage over A33 in terms of noise above iso800. - for the same scene, same aperture and iso level, A33 seems to have 1/3 to 1/2 stops faster shutter speed. - A33 tends to have sharper and contrasty pictures compared to Nex5 with both using kit lenses, which i am not sure is its the lens that is the cause of it. - Both seems to share the same mechanical shutter. - the evf on a33 is big, bright and colourful. I have since ditched my A500 in my dry cab for good. - Af on video is fantastically fast and fun! There isnt any noticrable af motor noise from the 1855sam lens. However when used with lens without af motor, the screw drive af motor is loud and destroy the whole video. - reviewing pictures and videos is still as painful as in Nex5 as they cant be viewed at the same time like pns or evils in the market. Its either viewing all the videos or pictures only. Will post more when i thnk of any. |

Thank-you Ouverture, did you find the high ISO noise quality to be better or worse than the a500?
I am slightly concerned about shooting high fps. I heard the EVF lags between shots, do you find it noticeable? Dan |

Hi Ouverture, how much did you pay for the A33? I see the price on Sony website is SGD 999. Just curious as I'll be in Sing in October. If my wife likes it, I might sell my NEX-5 and get this (or the A55) instead.

Actually i find A500 performs better in iso from 800 onwards. A33 is just a bit too noisy for my liking. Of course A33 seems to retain slightly more details which explains why its noisier.
I didnt experienced noticeable lag when bursting with evf, probably not affecting me much. |

Retail price in singapore is sgd999 for body and sgd1099 with 1855sam kit. Street price is around sgd100 lesser for both. If you are here in october, then you will be in time for A55. :) it should be sgd100 more than A33 for both package. |
