The photos here make me wish I had the time to go out and photograph my hometown. Perhaps another time. I like all of the images but here are my picks:
Postcard from Mostar - 3pts. I love the classic feel of the photo. It's like stepping back to the early years of photography. Well done! Cleaner - 1 pt. I love the composition of this one. This one gives me a very peaceful feeling. Photoman's shot of Minneapolis is also beautiful. I live on the other side so I don't get to see the view from the northside of the city that much. Cheers! -Perry |

Some call me Perry, Peri, or Pericles. You can call me Jack. You don't know me.

"Belfast" by DaveMac 3
"Cleaner" by Cleaner 1 Some of the others are technically great but I thought these two best gave an impression of what a resident experiences. |

Oh, well, it seems my turn to select my favourites.
First of all, thank you all for participating, and congrats to all finalist. On the first one I have no doubt; Postcard from Mostar. It's a bit sentimental reason (this town has suffered an tragic period recently), but maybe because of that I found it a very powerful image. I like the way the image is processed too since it adds a specific expression. Maybe because I found quite the opposite feeling my second choice is Concorde’ Fontains, Paris I particularly like the framing; more than just one main subject makes this images lovely expression. Postcard from Mostar - 3 Concorde’ Fontains, Paris - 1 |

I am going to stay with two shots that had the most impact on me when I first opened them.
"Belfast" by DaveMac has a stark reality that perfectly reflects the barrenness of the urban scene in this troubled city. The power/phone lines top right are just "right", as is the lack of any sign of "life". It tells a powerful story. An excellent B&W treatment. "Cleaner" by Cleaner, also has a direct simplicity, that just made me say "wow" when I first saw it. So.... "Belfast" by DaveMac = 3 points “Cleaner” by Cleaner = 1 point But I also congratulate the others for great shots. |

foggy night 1 Actually I do believe that foggy night is more beautiful but I've made lots of foggy shots myself and never succeeded to get a good lightning shot |
