A very good price too, who'll go for it and get back to us with the first-ever review of this lens in the dyxum lens database?
Must note though that my own past experience with shutterblade hasn't been quite as good as their 99.5% rating. I'd probably pass on this even if I didn't already have enough heavy glass & metal to lug around. |

30 day money back...
No way to confirm SLT compatibility. The newest model has a warning on it. Looks like it's primed for a nice new white paint job. I'd be real careful with this lens. Sigmas of that generation were notorious for fragile auto focus mechanisms. They broke like a project window. Aperture blades should be checked thoroughly before purchase. But this looks like a once in a decade opportunity. I've never seen this lens come up for sale before. Not this first generation model. Very rare. Better find a local repairman or get prepared to use manual focus. That would be difficult. It's hard for me to use manual focus on my 600 f4. I would consider this a fabulous price, considering the free shipping. |

Yes, if I didn't have 600 f4 & 300 2.8 & 500 mirror, I might go for it but Sigma gears scare me a tad. Just thought I'd post an interesting piece of glass I'd not seen before.

Yep--I've been traveling so haven't had time to work with the glass I bought from you, but that's about the score. Actually, I'm thinking of the 300 as the "normal" lens for me and the 800 for head shots. I am concerned about DOF, so we'll so how this works out. But for the price, it was hard to pass up, and probably worth repairing if the gears die sometime in the future. However, the possible incompatibility with SLT does worry me, as future Sonys will probably be of that ilk. |

I think it was a great purchase. Slt incompatibility is not that big a deal with the a900, etc around. I look forward to your impressions! Congrats!
