Ok, so i got the 28/2 RS, and before i sell it i have to at least test that it works... so i took ONE shot with it and put it back in it's packaging.

:) 28/2 is damn sharp.

BTW, you really have to download the test and view it through a proper image view to do the test justice.


Also I tried something new. Resized all the images to 1000x665 and made a webpage so u can instantaneously see the differences overall.

Just wait for all the pics to load, then move your mouse over the different lens links at the top to see the image. You can really see how much the 28-70G distorts compared to the 28/2

And you can also see that the 28/2 is slightly wider than the 28/2.8.

looking at it again, in terms of sharpness and distortion, the 28/2 really soars about the other 3 lenses.

I'm hoping i'll get the same results from my 35G, if i do, the 28-70 will be on the selling block soon.

good comparison of the four! I agree with your assessment of the 28/2 vs the 28-70, but I couldn't give up the zoom range for 3 primes. The 35 is a specialty lens (at least for me it is).
