Dear Dyxumers,

After recounting all votes twice I am pleased to announce the photo which won the competition for the best mountian shot ...

"Aiguille des Grand Charmoz, les Grand Jorasses" by mihai-ian

The two shots that were trying to catch up with the above masterpiece were

"Dreaming of Grand Canyon" by svjetlana

and

"End of the road, start of the trail" by pdave

Congratulations to the winner and the HMs and thank you all for voting and participation in this DPC ...

Happy shooting,
MiPr

What a fantastic trio!
All 3 are superb landscapes. Congrats to all, but of course especially to mihai-ian. By adding a human element the grandiose scale is emphasized, and BW is just so beautiful.

Wonderful selection of images and, as pointed out above, the added human element lifts mihai-ian's image to the winners podium. Such a varied set of images but all giving us the 'because it's there' feeling - well done to all!

Kind regards, Neil.

Head spinningly beautiful photos, all three of them. I don't remember which photos I voted for specifically but it was 2 of these 3 I think, and I remember thinking, well today it will be these two, maybe another day it would be a different combo. All three are quite special.

There are over 10 individual climbing challenges in the winning pic, well and truly meeting the title for this challenge. Congrats mihai-ian and the worthy runners-up.

mighty honored by your appreciations, thank you all for your votes;
I guess I was just lucky that the theme of this contest has been my favorite subject for more than 30 years, and I took a vacation in one of the most spectacular location in Europe just during the contest.
I will take this as an incentive to spent even more time outdoor at the upper altitudes I could manage.

I love both mihai-ian's and pdave's images.
I am glad that one of my images is in such fine company.
It looks like east-Europeans took care of this DPC very well.
I was born and raised relatively close to where pdave's image is "born".

This was a fun one to watch!
Congrats to all, and thanks as always to the Alpha Eyes for putting it together.
