Great! Can you ask them to report back what the cause of the problem is? I'd like to see if it's the same as with mine.

Eu resolvi o problema colocando minhas maos diretamente nas lāminas do obturador! Sim, com ajuda de luvas de borracha e uma haste limpa. Mas resolveu.

I solved the problem by putting my hands directly on the shutter blades! Yes, with the help of rubber gloves and a clean stick. But resolved.

I'm having an A55 with a shutter that got was sticking. The camera wouldn't start up (red light and camera error).
I solved it by leaving it off for half an hour, connecting a Jupio battery pack to it. That did nothing (not even a light turned on). Putting back the battery made it start up again.

I'm going to try it out for one week before returning it to my relatives. Because there may be some old capacitor that's broken or a bad battery. The fact is we tried 3 different batteries - nothing worked.

The Battery pack with dummy didn't give any lights on the camera, but afterwards the battery started working.

I assume the battery current was too low to close the shutter and it was demanding too much power to close. By using the battery pack the capacitor was charged enough to give a little extra push to open the shutter. And let the startup succeed.

When looking at the schematics i could not find big capacitors though tons of voltage regulators inside the A55 with 10µF's - and even lots of coils. So when it needs to operate the Shutter, antishake and mainboard at the same time...

The A55 is very compact so that may be the reason to design it the way it has been designed. It may be one of the causes for that shutter problem. In fact the shutter was closed and it gave an error even before power-up (red light stayed on). Power on did nothing (or give a warning on the screen with camera error no numbers no indications).

I'm now going to charge all batteries and put everything to the test (stress tests) for one week. Let's hope it stays fine now. So my A55 still lives in 2025.
