Samples: Steinheil Culminar 135mm F4.5
mount: M39 LTM, M42, Exacta format: full format year: ca. 1954-1960 max aperture: F4.5 min aperture: F32 (no clicks) elements/group: 4/2 aperture blades: 16 min focus distance (mm): ca. 1200 filter diameter (mm): lens has no filter thread length (mm): 129 weight (g): 369 additional information: The Culminar's design goes probably back to the 1940s - more on Steinheil lenses you can find here and here. The lens has a couple of advantages, outstanding are: a very round aperture (due to 16 blades) and quite nice bokeh, relatively small MFD (ca. 120 cm) - and between 2m and infinity there is more than half a turn for focussing - the lens behaves at the infinity end as a macro lens behaves at close distance - you can turn and turn and the image still gets sharper and sharper. The head of the lens can be unscrewed and used with a bellows for macro exposures. #1 #2 #3 #4 #5 Thanks for looking!! Edit - some links repaired! Edited by waldo_posth - 30 June 2017 at 23:13 |
