A lovely spot Zach and I discovered recently. Still finding spots close to home I have not seen.
A99ii and ZA 24-70/2.8 1. 1B - Roger's suggested crop. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. This one is a composite of 3 24mm horizontal frames shot in a vertical series. Thanks for looking. Very best to all Mike Edited by WestCoastCannuck - 09 December 2019 at 04:15 |

I really like the first - classic foreground, mid-ground, background. A suggestion - how about a square crop which eliminates most of the left side of the image and a bit of the right so as to leave the "point" of the foreground formation (which leads the eye to the sun) and the sun essentially centered left to right. You then would be left with three triangles (the cloud formation, the tree line (a narrow isosceles triangle), and the rock formation all pointing to the sun and its reflection. To my eye, the left side adds very little to the image and distracts from the beauty and visual strength of the image - the dramatic part of the clouds, the sun and the reflection.

A very likable series, Mike.
The sky in #1 is wonderful, the rock in #5 and #6 is kind of blocking the full view of the horizon and that - IMO - is reducing the images' effectiveness. #3 and #4 are nice childhood studies! TFS and all the best! |
