TP: Who influences your photography?

The idea for this comes out of an early thread in these forums, and a recent suggestion by Raimios.

Please provide any links or references you can to assist others to discover the work of the people whose photography influences your own, or who has inspired you.

Very quick overview (by words and pictures) of many important photographers' works can be found at maters of photography ... worth to visit.
And another good place to visit is legends online archive
Coz there are one thread about Annie Leibowitz ... so good perspective for that thread can be found on "legends online"... and there is David Bailey (his "celebrity" collection)

and btw; just forgot to say simply Thank You! for adopting my (was it only me.... no, not at all)idea. Anyway, let's hope this will become an endless source for ideas, the learning point for better pictures...

I taught myself some; I started out wanting a record of my hiking trips. I can't do much of that anymore, but my interest in photography has grown. I've learned a lot from the folks here; the only photo "formal" training I've ever had was with Larry Ditto, a nature photographer based in the Rio Grande Valley. He's fairly well known locally, gets a lot of his work published in Texas Parks & Wildlife, etc. He used to work for US Fish And Wildlife Service and managed several wildlife reserves, most notably Aransas National Wildlife Reserve, where the (extremely) endangered Whooping Crane project was originally based. He's retired from that now, but his knowledge of the outdoors and photography is just amazing. Only problem shooting with this guy is that comparing his pics with yours at the end of the day will frustrate the h*** out of you.

I can say who I like but I am not a professional and as a hobby I do try to learn, but I just have my surroundings and background as inlfuence.

Then I can say what photographers I like and I would like to shoot like:

-Aleksandr Rodchenko and Kertesz (he influenced Bresson btw).
-Man Ray and Brassai

-pieter ten hoopen

everything influences me.
I don't know if I should be happy or sad.

I really like Phil Borges
I've always been intrigued by Josef Sudek
Michal Macku is the person who made me believe in photography. I really admired, and still admire him. Great artist.
I also like emil schildt a lot.
emil schildt (nudity warning!) I hope he gets very rich from photography, and gets enough credit in art community.

Oh! And Gregory Colbert! A very complete conceptual work. I envy him with all my heart.
