I cannot say I am influenced by anyone as such. I do not have anyone whose style I'd like to make my own or whose pictures I study to make something similar. Not true! There are a lot of photographers that I'd love to have their style and I'd love to take similar photos, but there are so many that I like to call it being inspired of rather than influenced by (....is there any difference?)When my photography goes slow I sit down and browse through galleries to fire up my spirit again.

For nature photography:

John Hyde
Carl Donohue
John Shaw

Leigh Perry has some wonderful abstract seascapes in his photo.net portfolio

Some of the images in this blog by Tristan Campbell is stunning. I really like his work.

I also have to mention Mark Tucker, CTYankee, already pointed him out above, and thus reminded me about his gallery. Thank you Dennis, I had lost his link (and hence his name as well during a PC-crash some time ago..)

EDIT: One more, for black and white photography Eirik Holmryvik has some really great pictures on his site.

Too many, but to name just a few apart of the BIG names (HCB, Doisneau, W. A. Allard or Sudek), Piotr Kowalik, Jean-Philippe Poli and recently discovered (to me) Eugeni Forcano (AKA Eugenio Forcano), very little information about this one in the web :( .

People here at dyxum and at photo.net.

I love Reza, Abercrombie, Ed Kashi or Steve McCurry for being great photographers and even greater human beings.

A recent exhibition by McCurry in Barcelona was close to a mystical experience for me.

Definitely my influences and source of never-ending inspiration (this is the nude stuff so please follow carefully :p)

Waclaw Wantuch - a good friend of mine and a great tutor
Gabriele Rigon
Janusz Miller
Jan Hronsky
Pascal Renoux

and Ellen Von Unwerth, but it's hard to find her stuff online so you will need to try for yourself ;)

Enjoy!

Cheers

I had the pleasure to know a fellow photographer called Nana Sousa Dias on a Portrait workshop he was hosting and I was attending. From that time he became one of my inspiration, mainly because he is not a full time photographer but a musician. Here are some of the photos from is online repository

I was able to see some of the photos in large prints and I can guarantee that are event better, most of his work is done in large format and in B&W.

Just now (coz the contest "city life"), and of course whenever, it's time to check a photographer who really shoot "city life":

Bruce Gilden

Enjoy and learn how to go close to your subject!

Not so much an influence, but people who's pictures I could sepnd all day looking at are Chris Borgman. Just love the vividness and energy within the pictures.

I also like Bob Carlos Clarke (nudity warning here). There's a real darkness to some of his images that appeals to me and I don't know why.
