This is the formal announcement I thought Bob was going to make and MiPr thought I was going to make... better late than....

I am pleased to report that there are two new faces in the Alpha Eyes team -- MichelvA and happyjack, who come from opposite end of the Earth.

Michel lives in Holland. He says: "My name is Michel, but it is actually Michele. This is the Italian form of the name, but in the Netherlands often confused with the French female version with two ll's. So I leave the last one off. Last name is van Aggelen, but I like a short name so use MichelvA
I work at the University of Technology in Delft, in the lab for building materials research. Next to that I started a new study some time ago, systems and control, which is just a confusing name for tricking differential equations. Hope to finish it soon and may change job then.
My first "hobby love" was audio. Love to listen to music and improve reproduction. And yes, I still play records .. but surely I have CD's too.
Second hobby is cars. I am an active member of the dutch Lancia Club, and supply members all over the world with technical advice in case they want to race or modify their car. Further I help organise big meetings and am moderator on the dutch Lancia Sport forum," says Michel.

happyjack is Howard Jack who writes: "A little bit about myself.
Nickname given to me at school - all the jokes I guess.
A Kiwi born and bred, but now self-exiled to Australia. And putting up with all the Kiwi/sheep jibes but I can give as good as I get.
Now living the simple impecunious life in a caravan. Anyone need a good handyman with an M.Sc.?
I think my first camera was a box brownie (borrowed) then I got in to a real camera, my sister’s Voigtlander. Finally got my own when on holiday in Fiji back about ’68 a Pentax S1A – the days when Fiji was a duty free haven for us overtaxed Kiwis.
Eons later I saw the new XGM – the start of the downward camera gear money spiral.
Somehow, somewhere, sometime I came across the Minolta 8000i, followed by 404si, 7D (still in Africa somewhere), A700, A77. May make myself even more impecunious with the A99???
Landscape, nature, candids are my bag, and some may have noticed I like a bit of humour where possible. Can’t seem to get my head around the arty stuff so leave that to others," said Howard.

I am sure you will all join me in welcoming them both.
