It is cheaper in the NL. 599 GBP is €713,- while you can buy it from a Dutch store for €699,- atm and if you live in NL you can even get €50,- cashback:

In America its $1000 plus tax even on Black Friday
Got it about a year ago from B&H (my preferred outlet) for $900. I've never seen it below that in the States
So that 550 euro seems like an excellent price
BTW I consider it a Super G lens after a years pretty heavy use

It is €650,- still a good price. I payed more for it, but I don't mind as I used it enough to be worth the difference.
