Vectis lenses

To continue my introduction to the Vectis lenses. MINOLTA V APO LENS 80-240mm f/4.5-5.6 on MonsterAdapter LA-VE2 auto-focus adapter. Trouble free AF, MF works. Some vignetting, not too bad. Fair amount of pin-cushion distortion, but easily corrected when necessary. So far the Vectis lenses do not disappoint on full frame. Particularly this APO lens. No CA, very sharp. This lens shares the lens code with the 56-170 and the 28-56. Understandable as they were never meant to be used on A- or E-mount.

The 50mm macro I've been using on my original 2015 adapter as well as a Vectis S-1 and RD-3000 had been fine .
When I mounted it on the LA-VE2 the focus speed had stepped up a gear or two and was just hunting , missing at each end because it was moving too fast .

I've a few of these lenses that has come with other gear I've bought over the years , so tried another .
This one works just fine . Both behave normal on native Minolta V mount bodies , so no idea what's going on .
So for the £10-£15 they sell for , I would say it would be worth your while picking another copy up to try out .

A few more with the Minolta Vectis 400mm f/8 Reflex on the Sony a6600 via the LA-VE2 .
Changed AF mode to AF-C expandable flexible spot , it seems to suit this lens better than AF-S or DMF that I usually use the camera in .
Seems to help prevent hunting or the lens stalling .
Image stabilisation really helps with this lens and the improved high ISO is a boon too , better than the NEX 7 and a world away from the Vectis S-1 or DiMage RD-3000 !
