As I review my photos I see a lot more being taken with non-Alpha cameras, as you will see as this day progresses. I'll try to keep the numbers balanced. Someone tap me on the shoulder if this is abusing your hospitality.
On with the photos: Day 2 started with a vaporetto ride and a stroll to the Peggy Guggenheim Collection, one of my favourite galleries anywhere. 1 Venice street | ZV-E10 and E PZ 16-50mm F3.5-5.6 OSS A splash of green and garden can be magical in Venice. 2 Grand Canal from Peggy Guggenheim Collection | DJI Osmo Pocket 3 This space fronting on to the Grand Canal is perfection ... and this spherical or 360 panorama shows more but is a bit too clinical in feel (link). There's a lot to see inside but tucked away almost in an alcove are these Twenty-three glass sculptures after sketches by Picasso by Egidio Constantini: 3 4 3, 4: ZV-E10 and E PZ 16-50mm F3.5-5.6 OSS Back outside this work stands to one side of another: 5 Raymond Duchamp-Villon | The Horse | ZV-E10 and E PZ 16-50mm F3.5-5.6 OSS The main attraction being the outrageous Angel of the City 6 Marino Marini | The Angel of the City | Pixel 7 Pro (More tomorrow.) |

Beautiful continuation, Howard. Love the view through the blue glass screen from the Peggy Guggenheim Museum.
As an aside, I recall from a documentary I recently saw about Peggy Guggenheim that the outrageous appendage of the Angel of the City was detachable, with several variants, and that Peggy would use them to signal various agendas to her gatherings. Looking forward to more - can't get too much of Venice. |

For me #3 is the stunner! A visit to the Peggy Guggenheim museum is always rewarding!
TFS, Howard! |

Thanks so much, all; especially that little story, Joe. It certainly looks like an unscrewable appendage, if I can put it that way.
Continuing Day 2: We say farewell to The Angel of the City 7 Marino Marini | The Angel of the City | Pixel 7 Pro And catch the next vaporetto uptown (if that's the way to describe it), 8 Waiting for the vaporetto | Pixel 7 Pro I believe that's the Accademia bridge in the background, Harald. 9 Untitled | DJI Osmo Pocket 3 10 Untitled | Pixel 7 Pro 'Quintessential Venice', said a friend. 11 Plant pots | ZV-E10 and E PZ 16-50mm F3.5-5.6 OSS And the colours too. 12 Canal reflections | DJI Osmo Pocket 3 And you can't move for all the reflections. I'll add a final batch for Day 2 tomorrow. |

Continuing with a last batch, the Pocket 3 shoots in 1:1 format, if you wish,
13 Passageway | DJI Osmo Pocket 3 But the default is 16:9 14 Negotiating the narrows | DJI Osmo Pocket 3 I liked the way the reds came together here. And 16:9 is good for diagonal shadows 15 Street shadow | DJI Osmo Pocket 3 Returning to the alpha camera, I found the shapes in this tympanum (I think) on St Mark's 16 San Marco detail | ZV-E10 and E 55-210mm F4.5-6.3 OSS Notwithstanding the depiction of living creatures including man, is there a touch of Ottoman influence going on here? And finally, as I had a telephoto on the camera, a couple of shots of people in the square: 17 St Mark's Square people | ZV-E10 and E 55-210mm F4.5-6.3 OSS (I like to think the woman is using a film camera with manual focus ...) 18 St Mark's Square people | ZV-E10 and E 55-210mm F4.5-6.3 OSS Once again, thanks for looking! (More photos to come in a few days.) |
