What a beautiful city and judging by the cranes they are still building. In #1 i'd wish more sky but that is merely taste. The fence in #2 doesn't do the view much justice but the view is beautiful anyway. TFS Mihai .

Hi,

Missed this one first time around unfortunately.

I think 3 days is nowhere near enough time for such a lovely place! I tend to agree with the above comment on #1 but, there again, the sky doesn't have a great deal to add to the scene here; I like the positioning of the sculpture against the church which adds a nice dimension of 'old and new' to the scene.

I'm impressed with the height you've got in #2 and it shows how, even in a city such as Vienna with it's history, people are encroaching on what should be a 'classical' roofscape; the price of progress one suspects.

#3 is my favourite of the set though; understated perhaps but I like the feeling of openness down that corridor and the gentle colours in there.

#4 works pretty well, though I'd have liked a little more contrast to the scene to give a greater feeling of depth to the stonework in the cathedral. By not trying to correct the perspective it looks exactly like it should do - it's a deliberate viewpoint you've chosen to show us and it works well here (and no-one wandering around the foreground!).

Finally, we have #5 which is a pleasing night/early evening shot; still some colour in the sky but clearly a long shutter speed required given the blurring of the people walking along the river bank. You've worked the curve of the river into the scene well and it takes the eye right into the heart of the city with that one, bright, tower acting as an anchor point for the eye once it's made the journey.

I suspect there is a lot more to take images of there but this is a good (and alternative) start for such a short visit.

Thanks for sharing these and best regards, Neil.

These are really good. Somehow I missed these. One of a handful of major European cities I havenít visited. Might have to make an appearance!
