Spotted on top of a house boat in Amsterdam. Avoiding the high parking fees?

Not really a car, but I don't think we want to start a "Vintage Tractor" thread.

Hendrick,
Great shot of that vintage MG. Love the B&W that's so fitting for the subject.

Hi Hendrick,

Great shot! Sharp at the grille and lights and blending into a nicely diffsed cockpit area creating a sweeping effect so fitting for the corner. This is a really fine image of thus subject in context and the conversion to a monotone image (though not a B&W form 'of the day' - never mind) just adds to the whole style and feel of the image.

Well done and thanks for sharing this with us.

Best regards, Neil.

Here I unfortunately do not understand the expression: though not a B&W form 'of the day'. Just out of curiosity, what does that mean?

Well, my intention was to add a kind of Sepia toning to this picture. Maybe I didn't hit the right color tone, added too much Margenta?

Best regards, Hendrick

Hi Hedrick,

Sorry for the confusion! The phrase was meant to reflect (as you've now mentioned) that it is neither a 'true' monochrome nor a sepia toned shot that would have been more typical of the era of the car - to me, this looks more like a Selenium toned shot which have that slightly more magenta/blue (think like a steel-like look) tone as I think this shot has. It's no big issue but I think a 'true' B&W look would have been good to see, especially as there is nothing else in the image that takes it out of period.

All that said, it is still a great shot and full of motion and look - great placing for you as the photographer to get this particular image.

I hope that helps explain my comment and apologies again for any confusion.

Best regards, Neil.
