The program insert APP block to JPG file, same as LR except without missing KM/SONY MakerNote. When MRW/ARW file is specified, the program insert the lens name to the related .xmp file. The ARW file is tiff format(MRW is proprietary format), I guess we can insert a lens name to the file as adobe xmp tag... |

I try to rename .ARW to .TIF and import by the LR.
The result is no problem. Next, put into Lens name to .TIF by the exiftool and import, The color is wrong. I guess some information(s) broken. I may be able to write the program which inserts a lens name, without breaking .ARW anything. Is this a good method rather than it rewrites related xmp? |

I was able to make the flawless ARW file with a lens name. #The Image data converter can handle it completely too. If it is made to read by LR, lens name metadata will be registered. And "Save Meta data to file" is not write .ARW, .xmp is newly made. This is very simple. Since I will go to take a photograph this weekend, it is impossible to complete the program. But, I will releases it in a week or less. |

Sorry for bringing up this old thread, but I just found a plug-in for Lightroom that allows adding lens data for non-chipped lenses:
LensTagger Plugin It basically uses Exiftool and the plugin just creates the command line based on the data you entered. The advantage of the plugin over simply running a command line is that with the plugin you can can see the pictures that you modify so you can easily recognize which photo was taken with which lens. Also, you can to batch editing and edit photos from different folders in one run without a hassle |
