Angora,
I trust you on this matter. The fact you're a little nervous will help you to do a good job. We all need some kind of stress - after the first good picture is taken, you'll forget about all this. The best thing you can do now is try out some shooting positions with the flashes and find solutions to the details where you have some doubts about. Try to find a 2nd photographer or get yourself someone you trust to assist (your husband?). [cats are bad assistants, they'll run away with your flashes] It's not the time to try to buy new flash/lens equipment - use what you have, what you know best. For the broken cable look at ebay and marktplaats - maybe you can find a replacement quick enough. |

![]() ![]() ![]() I learned a lot! ![]() (don't think stress would approve 'skills' though? ;-) the broken cable was replaced shortly after it had died, was wondering if I should order a spare one. -and then found a 10m long flash cable I had forgotten about- ![]() ![]() (no cats here, the-boy-next-door/my friend cat has moved. :S and my assistent/husband is dead. he was a great assistent though. ![]() the wedding was on friday december 13th, 3+ months ago and ![]() ![]() absorbed all of your great advice, did LOTS of 'homework', invested E150 in stuff (2nd hand Rogue flashbender + another external disk -a little earlier than planned- to be able to stow away lots of pics), worked on my stress levels (through the roof! ![]() ![]() ![]() offered to come along as a 2nd shooter (would have been thrilled to do that, great opportunity), but she said 1 real photographer w/b enough. (they seriously don't get it?). happily ever after? sure, but obv. change of plans. 1st of all the vintage Mercedes Benz became a Dodge van, (brakes of the Mercedes failed, ooops?), and the photographer didn't show up. so the bride's sister in law took pics and made videos. with her cell phone. saw them later and they were obv. chuffed. WHAT-was-I-thinking? ![]() preparing for a 'real' and very serious wedding shoot (+ the challenging light of a gloomy -luckily not wet- december day), while they were happy with a couple of very BAD, very 'different', screwed up pics. again a HUGE THANK YOU y'all for your help!!! really greatly appreciated!!! ![]() about 'homework'- found a series of videos by the SLR Lounge, called 'photographing the bride', on 1 of my disks, great stuff! and brilliant MagMod videos on youtube. (obv. desperately in need of a couple of these long and fragile tripods for the flashguns). |

Two days before the wedding they told you?
Car broke down? And then the photographer did not show up? Wow, that was a disaster! |
