![]() photo copyright waldo_posth Take out those 50mm Lenses for WEEK 50 Dyxum week 50 2020 is from Monday December 7 - Sunday December 13 This is the thread to sign up for this Challenge. Week 50 is a week-long photographic challenge and the only rule is that you shoot with a lens in the 50s (50-59mm) for the whole week. There are no restrictions on bodies.. That's right, in the spirit of Christmas, and because this challenge was started some years ago (by member DCap) as an event open to non A-mount/E-mount bodies, we are dropping all restrictions. Medium format, M43, and even Canikon... it's all okay! The only restriction is the lens and pic-a-day. All members are invited to join us! And we hope some members who have moved to other mounts will come back to visit us. Please invite anyone you want to keep in touch with - it would be great to "see" some old friends. Please feel free to set yourself additional challenges and to tell us about them. As always, the point is that you make pictures, challenge yourself to improve in some way, and have fun. It’s also a nice way to get to know some of the other members a little better. If you have not joined before and do not fully understand the guidelines, do not worry. You will understand when you see - just sign up. This challenge is for everyone! It does not matter if you are a professional or a beginner. Everyone will learn something and everyone can enjoy it. GUIDELINES 1. Take photographs every day and post one picture for each day in the thread. Pic-a-day only! 2. Shoot for the whole week with one or many 50-59mm lens(es) (if you do not have a prime – fixed focal length - you can shoot using a zoom, fixed to 50mm, but you cannot change the focal length at all – we suggest you tape it). So called Lens Turbo's or Speed Boosters to achieve FF FOV on APS-C bodies are allowed as well as extension tubes, but we discourage the use of tele converters, since they start deviating from the 50 mm FOV too much. 3. Because the point is to shoot only one point of view, only minimal cropping is allowed to straighten, etc. However, you may crop ONE SIDE in order to present a picture in a square or other format planned when you took the shot (the point is that you compose in the viewfinder/LV and not on the computer). 4. You are expected to comment on the photographs posted by others – there will be a Talk Thread for this purpose. This may be the most important rule of all! 5. Read the Talk Thread every time you post in the Photo threads, so that you do not miss out on announcements or comments – please try to join in. 6. If you cannot post every day that's okay. You can still join and catch up with posts when you can. If you do not have time to process your photos fully, don’t worry – post them with minimal processing. A challenge is not a contest. If you have a question you can ask them below - they are very welcome! or just Sign Up NOW! Members who have already joined: 1. pegelli 2. gregja 3. Hezu 4. addy landzaat 5. Phil Wood 6. QuietOC 7. OK, I'm in
![]() I have too many nifty 50's so I'll use some that hardly get on my camera otherwise. So my top candidates are a Konica Hexanon 52/1.8 and a Yashica 50/1.9. Maybe I'll also throw in a Domiplan 50/2.8 (with the aperture stuck open), we'll see how the week goes. |

I'll play. Different lens for each day, despite that I'm not fond of Domiplan 2.8/50 (or at least the copy I have), but as long as I don't have any other alternatives I guess that is among the chosen lenses.

I am in.
Just thinking about the 50mm's I have: Minolta AF 50/1.4 (and the same lens in Sony) Minolta MC 50/1.4 Sony 50/1.8 OSS Nikon E 50/1.8 (but no adaptor) Canon 50/1.8 II (and a broken 50/1.4 USM) That is almost seven 50mm lenses. Maybe I should do a 7-lens challenge? Or just use it as an excuse to use my EOS R? I still have two weeks to decide ![]() |

I'm in. Not sure which lenses I'll use, but I guess it doesn't matter as long as they are 50s.

I am in. The Sony FE 50mm F1.8 is my current favorite. I also quite like the FE 50mm F2.8 Macro.
Maybe some Tilt-shift with Minolta 58/1.4, 55/1.7, and others. Something seems to be off with my Hexanon 52mm F1.8. Does the Sigma 50mm F1.4 EX qualify if it is actually closer to 45mm? With an abundance of 50s I have several dilemmas. I managed to narrow it down to this, for now

I'd like to join in.
Sony a58 with Minolta 50mm f2.8 macro, plus maybe Minolta 50mm f3.5 macro but that's on a Dynax 5 at present.
I look forward to seeing your gig pics, hopefully won't be too long before they're back. |
