Yes, paradise exists, and we were lucky to roam this area hammocking, spending the nights on the various islands. Rich marine life and wonderful people.

Beautiful. I love the calm serene simplicity of the fifth image.

@Infrastellar,

What a lovely series of locations you've shared with is. I think of the set, I'm most taken by the third and fifth images for the simplicity they have and the sense of isolation and serenity they portray. I would also like to select the last one for that startlingly coloured water you show us - it's like drifting through a forest on a sapphire bed!

A beautiful location indeed and one that definitely deserves documenting - and, dare I say, saving for future generations?

Thanks again and best regards, Neil.

Quite a nice set. #5 is my pick of the lot for the minimalism. A little bit of contrast adjustment will truly bring out the beauty of this shot. As it stands, it's a bit over exposed since it seems to be exposed for the sky.
#3 is my second pick with the rainbow being a nice bonus.
I like #1 as well.

Beautiful set. That is a great place to visit, and being south of the equator, they seem to be less prone to typhoons than the islands in the north. Love the fourth and last pictures.

Wow! What an incredible place to be. #4 and #5 are my favorites (adding numbers in the post would help ), the 4th because of the look of the child and the 5th because it gives a sense of the remoteness of this location and the waves crossing the end of the island give an intense impression of the beginning ocean. TFS!

Wonderful set of images - of a corner of this planet that is rarely traveled.

Yes, #5 is a reduction of an image to the idea of a paradise. It stands out. But #4 and #7 are also marvelous - as portraits of the people depicted in them.

The most amazing image for me is the last one with its strange combination of colors.

Thank you for sharing these images!

Looks like time well spent, I always find that I either enjoy a holiday or come back with great photos, you've managed both! #4, 5, and 7 the pick of the bunch for me.
You win or you learn....

A wonderful set from this idyllic looking place.

West Papua is pretty much off the radar for most of the world. In Australia we get occasional reportage of the movement fighting for independence from the Indonesian Government similar to what had occurred in East Timor, but I wasn't aware it offered holiday destinations like this one you were able to visit.

Truly beautiful and looking quite unspoiled.
My favourites are the boy in the outrigger canoe, the pristine coral sand beach, and the turquoise creek in the jungle.

And without wanting to encroach on your post, I remember being fascinated by the remarkable images of traditional West Papuan villagers posted on Dyxum four years ago by member @tenhanlin Wamena Papua Indonesia. Well worth a look - real "National Geographic" stuff.

Thanks! some pretty amazing pictures in that thread. Those poeple are a bit from different location, but anyway, the whole Papua region is amazing, wild, and yet undiscovered.
