Hi guys,
I have my Sony a77 II for a while and I would like add L plate to it.
What L plate fits best to that camera. There are multiple options for
E mount cameras, but not so for A mount.
What everybody is using?
Thanks for answer.

Anxious to hear as well. Right now I'm using a cotton carrier rail on the bottom. I have to carry an allen wrench to change batteries and have to use the slot in the ball head on my tripod for portrait view. All a pain, but much better than nothing.

No answer for my question, what means that nobody is using such plate for A77 II.
By searching web I did not find dedicated plate for A77 II, but I was hoping
that somebody is using one of those universal plates for that camera.
Apparently it is not the case.

Well, it's no A77ii but I use one of the cheap generic ones on my A77. Think it set me back all of $20 from Ebay a few years back.
It's got a slot where the mounting screw sits so I can adjust how close the vertical bit sits to the side of the camera and also make sure the base doesn't cover the battery door.

Think that Really Right Stuff once made a dedicated A77 L plate but doubt they sold in any great quantity. And has since been discontinued so hard to find nowadays.

EDIT: Going by this link it was called RRS BA77-L

I was looking for one for my A77ii a while back and came across this one. I didn't buy it because of the problems we have with International Postal Service in South Africa. I would also need a new bracket for it to fit on my monopod/tripod ball mount, so decided it wasn't worth the hassle for the amount of time I would use the plate.
L Plate

I guess an A99m2 L-bracket would work - width and height are the same between the cameras.

Might even have the same base as they share vertical grips, possibly some contours might be slightly different.

ABDurbs generic plate looks to be identical to the one I'm using on my A77. No complaints with mine, screw a D-ring into the hole in the bottom on mine where I attach a Peak Design anchor for my Slide strap.

Thanks guys for your input.
I wonder if any of those L plates designed for E- mount A 7 would also work
on A77ii?
Access to side door would probably be obscured.

ABDurbs plate cost $6.61, but shipping is obnoxious $40.17!

L Plate

That also looks pretty much like mine too.
I find it brilliant, not only for mounting but the by having it mounted as far to the right as possible it is also a very good grip - I always hold my camera using it. Plus I have a wrist strap attached to the camera strap point so very easy to use especially on smaller lenses like the 16-80.
The bracket screw fitting is one that i can also attach my Black Rapid shoulder strap.
All my tri/monopods, balls, gimbals, lens tripod brackets etc have arca mount plates. So easy to use.
