A continuation of the earlier thread here.

Just like the 'Story behind your nickname' thread! Sometimes it gets mentioned in postings here and there, but we are curious what other people do to earn their keep.

I'm a network guy (CCNA) administering all those funky Cisco and Juniper devices necessary to deliver Cable and DSL based internet services to about 500k subscribers in a country of only 8 million.

Photographer by day. Evil Super Villain by night. Only known weakness are 24hr Sushi Bars, and maybe Dark Chocolate... maybe.

How's business? Well, let's just say I won't be quitting my day job any time soon.

My job has been described by others as chief facilitator of c!@p. I fix other peoples IT disasters when those that are supposed to fix them cannot.

I'm a research associate (and their IT guy) for a startup biotherapeutics company by day, and a math tutor and martial arts instructor on the side by night. Hoping to turn this photography hobby into making me some money to keep it going in the future.

Research manager running customer satisfaction studies for a big multi-national and general Excel guru (or sorcerer as someone in my team so eloquently put it the other week!). linkedin

Love my photography hobby passionately and do weddings for friends and friends of friends but it just isn't enough of reliable income for me. Perhaps it's a lack of ability, perhaps it's a lack of motivation and fear of laziness when self employed or perhaps I just want to keep work and play separate. Whatever it is, I can't wait to be retired and embrace photography every minute of every day

I am an independent IT 'consultant'. I do a lot of support work, networking and training for small businesses and personal users in my area. I am also a Microsoft Access specialist, database and VBA developer who creates custom software solutions for all kinds of niches and clients all over the map.

Also I do make some of my living with my creaking but trusty A700. At least I seem to have something left over after my nasty tendency to bang up cameras and lenses.

Always wanted to meet an Evil Super Villain. Do you have a hollowed out volcano for a lair?
There is nothing, absolutely nothing, half so much worth doing, as simply messing about in boats

I'm currently a stay at home Dad after being medically retired following an accident at work as a bus driver. Have had many and varied jobs in the past but I learnt my trade as a pipe organ builder and tuner. Music and photography are my two passions in life. For the future? I will be starting a photography degree in September to keep the old grey matter in working order and hope to start making a bit of beer money from my photos.

I've worked hard to get to the bottom and I kinda like it there. Actually, I'm medically retired from uncle-sam Inc. so these days it's hobbies close to home and medical appointments. Exciting I know, but somebody has to do it. My background was in defense, both active duty and contracting. I don't snore and my favorite color is yellow.

Job: Excel developer & tech support dude for the beancounters at an NHS ambulance trust.

Ideal job: Hand-building bespoke loudspeakers for people with more money than sense. Not quite there yet
C&C always appreciated
