This topic is for discussion of possible meetings anywhere in the BeNeLux region. Dyxum members are invited to suggest meetings and make preliminary plans in this thread. Once you have settled on a venue and date/dates, PM me or any other admin/moderator about having a specific planned event thread set up (this makes your event more visible to other members!).

Keep an eye on regions that are near where you live and, if you are visiting somewhere that has a group, why not drop them a line in their regional thread?

An index of all the regional threads, planned meetings and resulting photographs can be found here

How do you can read in my profile, I´m living in Göttingen in southern Lower Saxony.

Are there other Dyxum-members in this region (or in North Germany) who are interested in joint meetings and/or exchanges of views on cameras and lenses?

I look forward to your positive responses!

We do have a 'Meetings' thread that covers Central Europe - you might want to post in there (or we could open up a more specific Meetings thread for Germany...)

I've turned this thread into the Germany meeting thread - it now resides in the meetings forum, but there should be a link back to where it was originally.

I do get to visit Germany fairly often myself (next is Cologne on 1 September), but I only tend to be around for one evening - however if these ft in with any locals I'd be very happy to meet up...

Currently there are 115 Dyxum members showing up after a quick search - at least those who have set the country to Germany in their profile (mind you, no distinction between regions).
Of course not all of them are that active or still visiting the forum

That's the point when one starts to wish that Germany should be as small as Belgium. How can people from Munich, Bremen, Goettingen and Berlin come together? The distances to cover will be considerable. And are there enough active members who would want to join?

Berlin steve and I discussed a meeting in Berlin a couple of times. That certainly would be viable even for members coming from France, the UK, Sweden, Belgium and the Netherlands, given the meeting is announced early enough so that inexpensive plane seats and hotel rooms are available. It would be easiest to come to Berlin for members from "Central Europe" (I couldn't find the thread "When next in Central Europe?", BTW). And vice versa: I would love to have a meeting in Prague or Krakow!

The Ansel Adams Exhibition in 2014 created a very good opportunity to meet - but resonance for similar events elsewhere remained limited (e.g., I pointed to the Meyerowitz retrospective in Duesseldorf at the end of 2014, to no avail). The best place for exhibiting photography in Berlin is the C/O - the Salgado exhibition just ended, now there is one about Leica photographers. And we have a Helmut Newton Museum which exhibits ... Helmut Newton (that might not be everybody's cup of tea ).

I think we need some ideas, or at least some resonance, for starting a project.
