I'm wondering why this forum hasn't been continued. I'm from Kansas City and am ready for a trip for the "burning of the prarie" in the Flint Hills and would be interested in an Ozark trip this Spring.

My family is in K.C.! I am in Madison, AL! I am off to Greece until May 5th. But after that I am open to an Ozark trip. A sister has a big boat on Lake of the Ozarks. Maybe I could double up a family visit with a photo-shoot.

Chicago area meeting?

Photodan & I have corresponded about getting together to talk, eat, drink and possibly take a few photos in the near future. We're looking for anyone else in the Chicago area (or farther if you get 40 plus MPG) with interest.

If you are interested in an initial burgers & beer get together, please reply here with your city so we can find a central location and provide any other info you think we should know. I'll give this post 2 or 3 weeks to ferment before we tentatively set something up and I'll get back to the posters as replies come in.

Hope to meet many of you soon,

Chicago area member lunch...
Photodan & I are getting together for lunch plus a camera/lens show & tell session in the northwest Chicago suburbs on August 9. Might even get a few good pictures of the birds of the Fox River too - its in my back yard (well was until the river went down). If anyone else is interested, send me a PM for details.

v34jg,
As I see it, you can either take the train to Barrington or Crystal Lake & I pick you up at the station or I would not mind driving into the city once in a while for a good photo opportunity. I occasionally have to be in the Loop area for business anyway. Beer & burgers always sound good.

Just a very late note -- I'm going to be in Ann Arbor tomorrow, primarily to pillage the U of M library for my dissertation work, and I'll be in Novi on Saturday for a wedding. Some of you had mentioned meeting in Ann Arbor, well, if you have a spare moment, send me a PM or put something in this thread & we'll see whether we could spend some time photographing the U of M campus. I could also meet with anyone on Saturday in Novi, as long as we meet before the time of the wedding (5:00 pm)

AndySRT,
Welcome! There are a few of us in the Chicago burbs that have already gotten together at least once. Please send your regular email address to me at...
bob_siner@hotmail.com
...and I'll send out the intros.

All of us have each other's email addresses and, if we are going out for a photo shoot, we just email everyone on the list if we want company. If you can join, you respond, otherwise just delete the email or send a "No thanks". Its very uncomplicated and requires no committments from anyone.

Take care,
Bob
