Just returned back into the world of internet communication
(Mounment Valley, Utah)

Hi there Kathi and Tom!

Would be fine for me to meet.
I think I can reach Oak Creek in about 1.5 hrs. So just let me know when & where we can meet to do some shooting. Perhaps a bit South of Oak Creek.
I think best that Kathi finds something nice she would like to shoot on Sunday April 30, in the morning. (Let's set that date anyways).

Don't know if you can be there as well, Tom? If not, please let me know.
I haven't any places booked yet, until May 3, so I am quite flexible

Also in photography... I can do about anything
Always find my drive. Besides I am still learning how to utilize my new A77 for my best photographs. At the moment it's nature & landscapes.

Kathi? Do you have any likes or dislikes? Tom? Do you have any?

I hope I can connect to the internet soon again, to see what you have posted
Hopefully till Sunday April 30, somewhen in the morning
Minolta / Dynax / Sony Alpha / NEX
A creative mind.

I am up for anything. I do like going here, there is always something new to photograph.

I also like walking the streets of downtown Milwaukee. As of right now it looks like it will be sunny or mostly sunny on the 29th and 30th with high temps in the upper 40's to low 50's.

My calendar shows that the 30th is a Monday though.
Photographs are like wine, everybody has their own tastes.

Hi Tom,
I have a baby shower on Sunday at 1:00pm (it's my son so I can't skip out)so Holy Hill would be a too far for me on Sunday. I could only come up with Boerner Botannical Gardens, Grant Park or downtown (which I love on Sundays). I think downtown might be the most interesting for Remko, don't you think, all thought he did say south of Oak Creek would be his prefernce. I just don't get south of Oak Creek too much. Let me know if you come up with any better ideas.

Hello Kathi,

Like I said, I am up for anything. It doesn't matter to me. The botanical gardens sounds good. I don't get to Oak Creek very often so I don't really know anything about the area.

Downtown sounds good to me as well. I will do a little internet searching and see what I can come up with.

Remko and Tom,
I have another idea. I don't know how much is in bloom at the Botannical Gardens, but how about the Mitchell Park Domes? They open at 9AM on Sundays. Have either of you been there? I think admission is $6.50, but it's worth it. I'll check on that and get the address if that sounds interesting to you both.

Kathi and Remko,

Kathi that sounds good as well. I have been there in the past, beautiful place. I have been there a couple of times when they have the trains set up. Hopefully they will have a Bird-of-Paradise in bloom.

I was also thinking about the Milwaukee Art Museum. Specifically the Calatrava-designed Quadracci Pavilion. Admission is $15.00, but we don't have to go in. Just the exterior of the building and the lake front would be fine.

A little something more to think about.

Good. I'll email Remko in case he hasn't been online. We could meet at the Domes parking lot. They open at 9am on Sundays. I'll have to leave about 12:30 to make it to the shower, but you two could head on to downtown then. The address for the Domes is:
524 S. Layton Blvd., Milwaukee, WI
I have a bright yellow Ford Escape, you can't miss me!

As I have been eavesdropping on your party plans I wished I could join you all on Sunday. I used to live right across the valley at 32nd St and Park Hill. I love Milwaukee. You can't walk a half hour in any direction without being in a beautiful park. My dad was a railroad trainman so we lived near his work. I got my first job at the Milwaukee Road shops digging out the giant turntable in the blizzard of 1947. As kids we rode our bikes all over the city we never got tired of.

I can go there or anywhere in Wisconsin after May 9th.

Shercando,
Where do you live now? We would have been glad to have you join us on Sunday. I grew up on 31st and Pierce, then 37th and Rogers. I live in the southeast corner of Oak Creek for the last 25 years, but I'm only 15-20 minutes away from Milwaukee. I can't wait to see what someone else looks like with a Sony camera in their face.

I live in an apartment in downtown Madison just 2 blocks from the capitol. Madison is a great photo op town too.
We have a small free Henry Vilas Zoo but it is well known and popular with all the rumps, grunts and growls.

Sounds great. Wrote down the address, what time? 9AM?

Shercando mmm Madison, right? Don't know if you have interest in meeting as well? I'm on my way to the North (Ironwood, MI).
Maybe first to Wausau as well.. One of my friends lives there.

But will be traveling through Wisconsin til May 2.
Just let me know. Now I'm going to get ready to catch my flight

@Remko I won't be able to meet you on your trip this time but on your return leg after Wausau you should consider a visit to the EAA Aircraft Museum near Oshkosh, Wisconsin where they have displayed every type of aircraft since winged flight began with many WW1 and WW2 warbirds of the allied nations. It's easy to find with directions from their website and the entry fee is cheap.

EAA Oshkosh AirVenture 2012 is running from July 20th through July 30th with the usual outstanding aircraft displays and performances including trips you can take in an ancient '30s Ford Tri Motor and a WW2 Flying Fortress B-17. I am going for 6 days and expect to stay at nearby Ripon College. Local accommodations are filling up rapidly and if you want to go you should make your reservations now.

On line AirVenture grounds passes at the EAA website
