Anybody interested in a scenic photo tour around Lake Superior for a week or more? It is one of the best road trips in America. My van can seat 8 people in three seats but for a trip like this I would pull the third seat for gear and luggage room. Ideally we would be four shooters equally sharing all travel expense and help with driving too. Passport and valid driver license required. We would travel in a clockwise trip to have prevailing wind behind us in the northern route. If there are no takers I am going to take Badger Coaches Circle Lake Superior bus tour in August.
I have wanted to do this for more than 40 years and this year I definitely will go one way or the other. I started out counter clock wise in my Winnebago motor home on my daughter's spring break in 1978 and got about 200 miles north of the Soo and realized my motor home could not handle the steady headwinds and barely made headway so I turned around and made a mini trip into the Missouri Ozarks instead. Classic Cars on State Street. This Saturday, JUNE 2, 2012
Come visit Madison, Wisconsin and see some great cars on one of the most photogenic and pedestrian friendly city streets anywhereHERE Lots of trendy college town bars, quaint boutiques, shops and restaurants with outdoor seating too. ![]() ![]() |

I'm in Des Moines and would certainly consider driving a few hours to meet up and take some photos. Or just BS. I don't mind.
Looks as though I'm the rare "in the middle of everyone" member :) |

Shercando,
I just did this trip last fall and had a blast. I would love to join you for your trip, but I have a Yellowstone adventure on the calendar for this fall and not enough vacation time for both. I like the idea, however. I would love to have a few shared shooting experiences with fellow dyxumers in the future. (I'm in Minneapolis, so getting to other spots in the Midwest won't be too difficult.) |

I'd like to go to Oshkosh, hope to one day but my cousin and her husband, Brian Alley, are going and Brian will be involved with putting on some presentations for the Ion Aircraft, he's the one doing all the carbon fiber work for it.

I may find myself in Sioux Falls, SD in early April.. provisional dates are 9-12 April.
Such is the way of courier pick ups that this trip may get cancelled, but I thought I'd give people notice in case we have any Dyxumers nearby... |

Things move fast in the land of stem cell transplants, turns out the pick-up has been changed from Minneapolis to Washington DC... Edited by Bob J - 01 April 2019 at 16:57 |
