I was thinking about trying to organize a gathering for sometime in late spring or early summer (May or June). Interested?
And location suggestions? I'm thinking it would nice to go someplace that could draw from people from the tristate area (NY, NJ and CT), but still just a few hours from Phily or Boston. So maybe someplace in western CT, or southern NY. Maybe we could have a get together near Harriman NY: we could find a scenic place to visit, and before or afterwards people could easily visit the Sony Outlet Store in Woodbury Commons. I'm guessing that there would be several folks within an hour or two of this area, and it's real close to a train line if anyone lives in the city and doesn't have a car. Anyone interested? Any thoughts? Ian |

Probably. I could probably do it during the week, but I imagine that weekends would be easier for others.

I would definitely be interested. Southern NY sounds good, there are nice scenic areas such as Bear Mountain and all lakes nearby. I'd also be interested to see Sony Store in Woodbury, I heard some good things about it.
Hopefully by the time meeting is here, winter will be over ![]() |

I'd be interested in a get together sometime in the late spring early summer. Marcin, I live in oakland, about 12 miles from Clifton. There are lots of places to visit, Paterson Museum, Great Falls Park, Garrett Mountain, Bear Mountain, Harriman Park,Ramapo Reservation in Mahwah just to mention a few. I'm friends with a man that owns a flower nursery in Mahwah and he will let people in to do macros of the plants and flowers. Glad to see that there are members close by, I've tried to have a N.E.N.J. meet in the past but, no one ever responded.

There are some nice spots in the area perfect for photography like the one you listed.
In fact I was at Great Falls Park just today taking pictures for Day Prime challenge - see here. I also go to Garett Mountain once in a while, I was there few weeks ago taking shots with a film camera. I'm waiting for actual spring to come and my plan is to go there again to photograph some birds, deer and other animals. One more place I would add to this list would be Turtle Back Zoo in West Orange. It's small and not as packed with people as NYC zoos. Edited by marcin.warmuz - 17 March 2013 at 02:11 |

I don't know yet if I could come, but I would be happy! Anywhere between Boston and NYC is an option for me (Catskill Park is in my to-visit list...). But again, I cannot promise coming at all, so don't make plans according to me.

This sounds promising. If we start w/ 3 members, then I'm sure we can get at least a few others, and possibly more.
Shall we discuss dates? Earlier is better than later since my calendar tends to fill up quickly, but I'm still pretty open for late May and June. I'm thinking of possibly the following (these are all Saturdays or Sundays): May 25 or 26 June 1 or 2 June 8 or 9 June 15 What do you all think? Anyone who's possibly interested, please feel free to voice a preference. Give the days when you're available, and put a star next to your top preferences. Ian |

I could be open for any of these days. I work Sundays, but I can ask someone in advance to cover for me. I usually don't have any other plans during weekends.

Saturdays are best for me, Sunday is reserved for family dinner.
