Sorry for not reading carefully, I agree with people overseas being "friendlier". I'm apart a lot of UK forums, I don't think I even know of any US ones, lol.
But I'm 20 minutes away from the GWB (Westchester). Ill let you know about the Sept 20th event LECHER, I need some more action shots to my catalogue. Also my car forum (IFXCC) does Tri-State meets so if anyone else is interested ill post it up.....for the other car enthusiasts. Next events are Philly Cheese Steak Run & Bear Moutain Run. |

Photo Plus Expo sounds good. If I can I will try to go on Saturday. If anyone else in the NE NJ area is going maybe we can carpool or something. PM me if interested.

I'm defintely going, I never been to a photography convention before so this should be an experience. I live in westchester Thomcher, if I were to drive I wouldn't mind picking you up, but the car is in the shop so I'll be taking the train. I'll be going to the Saturday show because I have work during the week.

If the weather is nice (sunny, don't care about cold) I will be heading down to Conowingo Dam for a day of shooting one day over the February 13th to February 16th weekend. More than likely, it will be that Saturday or Sunday. I don't know which day yet, but will as that date nears (I have a whole weekend to myself...kids and wife in Disney that week...). I plan on being there from about 9:00 A.M. until 4:00 P.M. or so and will be bringing food and water for those interested. I think I remember seeing port-a-potties there...or at least enough cover for guys...
The last time I was there was a few years ago and the shear number of bald eagles was amazing! I'll have my tamron 200-500 to help this time, though...If you're a bird lover, this is a place to head out to! Edit: Conowingo Dam is located in northern Maryland on the Susquehana river Edited by ferretracer - 10 January 2009 at 18:28 |

Over the past couple years, I haven't been willing to travel a whole lot extra because of gas prices, but am more willing to meet up now (er, when it gets warmer), especially during the summer (I'm a teacher and don't work during the summer-my wife picks up extra hours so I can be with the kids!!)...if anything pops up here (besides the trip above to Conowingo Dam), I'll be watching! Especially with the Reading Phillies so close by for sports fans...

I wouldn't mind doing that once the summer hits. Any state parks near by for camping? It'd be about 4.5 hours for me, so I might make an overnight or couple days camping out of it.
I had a kayak for free travel, but sold it for $$ last spring to fund my a700... |

yes, actually.. Cayuga lake is right nearby, and there are all sorts of state parks around their, from Cayuga Lake state park in Seneca Falls, to Long Point, which is halfway down the western side of the lake, plus all the Falls parks on the southern tip. if people wanted to pull a weekend trip out of this, we could do the reserve one day, and then Toughanock and Buttermilk falls on another, with maybe a trip over to Watkins Glen for their falls, as well, if we get more interest. CNY is just peppered with all sorts of awesome photo op spots

I could do a weekend trip, but the weekend would depend...I will be away in early August and late June...I could really only do a weekend in July, for now. So, count me in as a tentative yes...but don't plan around me if others can make it another time

OK, so as of now it's looking like Saturday the 14th for my excursion to Conowingo Dam if anyone else is interested as the extended forecast for Sunday is rainy. As always the weather can change and if it does, I'll change my plans on here. If you may make it, let me know on here or PM!! This, of course is Valentine's Day, the worst holiday in the world
