OK, so two out for the 20/21 vs one for the 13/14 - anyone else have preferences or commitments ? - Elwyn, if it's likely to be your fair city, what days can you make ? Sorry to push, but only two or three weeks to go... Cheers IDM |

I'm not likely to be available any weekend in October, so you can ignore me for this one, but might be interested in future events, as long as reasonably accessible by public transport from rural NorthWest. (Currently Cheshire, trying to move to the Peak District.)

I live in Rutland, which I am told is East Midlands, but I am certainly up for a get-together sometime in the not too distant future anywhere within striking distance. Alternatively, are there Dyxumers in the east Midlands at all? |

So, if not the 20/21 how about weekends after that? I stress if I am able to attend I'm quite OK about giving others a lift up... I can take 5 passengers.

Personally I wouldn't be able to attend until 17th/18th of November, as I'm in Mexico for three weeks from the 21st Oct to 11th Nov. However as I said, don't feel you have to wait for me.

Sorry for my lack of input. Had a few, ahh, complications at work and all
![]() Whether it is Lichfield, Birmingham or Coventry I'm pretty flexible, but either way confirmation is a good idea to get things, er, in motion... Of course, it could be someone else doing things... But as I'm in the midlands and initially suggested it. I do recall the area mention in Birmingham but the last time I was in Lichfield was when the DHSS/DSS building was refurbed 3 years ago... with work ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Does anyone think we have any chance of getting something together before the spring? I'd still like to do somewhere in the Midlands (different for me), but I'm aware that light and weather are against us...

Funnily enough, was out with Dad today & ended up in Lichfield - excellent afternoon light on the cathedral front this time of year - but with the days as short as they are it may be better to wait until Easter unless there's any special events to encourage a get-together in this area...

There is always an option of starting earlier, and then practising with some night / evening photography ;)

There are a couple choices at the moment.
Birmingham Canal Side, City Centre or Lichfield City Centre. With the latter Ian Middy I think is the offerer of that one.... |

I've only visited Lichfield a couple of times, so don't know it that well apart from around the Cathedral [which, as mentioned previously, is probably at its best late afternoon at this time of year] - I suspect Brum would offer more "all-day" variety akin to London - or Coventry for your 'local knowledge' advantage... ...but weather has to be the concern - if shooting industrial architecture, then overcast/miserable maybe doesn't matter, and as your recent HDR series show, after dark things can look good with lights on rainy surfaces - but for the main part of the day if the lights poor it can make for frustrations unless anyone can suggest subjects that suit such possible 'flat' lighting [the only one I look for at such times is flowers - again, not the best time of year!] ...of course, we might get lucky with a glorious, crisp day [hmmm - what's that pig doing flying past the window?] Cheers IDM |
