10:00 - 10:30 ish? but I can be adaptable...
I'd probably be off before 14:00 as I need to pick my father up for the customary Friday fish supper... |

If anyone else facies turning up, the circuit is not too long for the Indy circuit. I tend to gravitate to the hairpin at the top of 'Graham Hill'...

I find myself at a loose end in North West Somerset on Sunday afternoon and wondered if anyone fancies meeting up. Skies are looking to be clear so was thinking to do some golden hour, sunset (8:12pm), and night sky photography somewhere either in Somerset on enroute back towards Reading. I was thinking to head to the coast between Minehead and Bridgwater, but very happy to be steered differently. For example, Stonehenge wouldn't be too big a dog leg and inspired by @nandbytes recent images, could be a great location.

WHO, WHEN, WHERE?
Do you think it is a good time to start thinking about a 2022 UK meet? In March 2020 (was it really that long ago) we were forced to abandon a planned meet that we optimistically described as "postponed" It may be better to start anew now and, as no-one knows what the future holds for us all, I suggest we hope and plan for an improvement and be prepared to shelve it if that's the way the cookie crumbles. I appreciate that travel across the channel has become more difficult but it has always been a joy to meet up with our mainland European friends and fingers crossed some of them may be able to join, and of course vice-versa. I have watched with envy and enjoyed viewing the fruits of the recent mini-meets in Zuid-Beveland and Dordrecht. So, to kick off: 1. Who would be up for a meet sometime in 2022? 2. When would you prefer; time of the year, weekday, weekend? 3. Where would you like to spend time with fellow Dyxumers making memories? Finally, for some inspiration, just look at this list of previous meetings from 2007 to 2021 and please give it some thought. |

So I'll start. (Subject to no travel or meeting restrictions being in place although prepared to accept the a "new" normal may mean some adjustments, like masks etc)
1. Me 2. From late Spring to Early Autumn (better [warmer] weather) 3. Within reasonable distance from East Midlands so could be: Oxford, East Anglian coast, London. |

I'm familiar with most locations that are within easy reach of home so I'd be happy to include an overnight stay for a Dyxum meet somewhere different and interesting.
A couple of constraints: 1. I can no longer drive. 2. We're hoping for a long cycling holiday in mainland Europe, so will be away for a couple of months if travel restrictions allow. IanC from Warrington wants to photograph round Llanberis sometime in the winter. Anyone familiar with winter Atlantic weather will appreciate that advance planning would be risky so our idea is to agree a date when we're reasonably confident of acceptable weather. Attractions are: Lower levels of Dinorwic quarry Dolbadarn castle Ceunant Mawr waterfall The lone tree that's been in lots of photo magazines WW2 bomb store There are food/drink options in the village. Anyone else interested in a short notice winter visit to my outpost would be very welcome |

I would be keen to meet up and as I live in South Wales, a trip up North as suggested by alanfrombangor would be good. Nevertheless, I am happy to meet elsewhere within sensible driving distance.

I’m up for Oxford and would be willing to organise a walk / pub visit / tour. I’m also happy to visit London and East Anglia, though the latter might involve an overnight stay, I suspect. Similarly I’d love to be shown around bits of North Wales that have hitherto eluded me, and Alan’s list would be a great starting point. Again this is not day trip territory for me, especially if pubs are involved!
