No Fred, I had been on a lunch date in Hoorn, had a walk around Hoorn afterwards (crowded with German tourists) and based on a tip went to Schermerhorn to see the windmills. I had no idea about the museum mill. That area looks much like the area around Alphen aan den Rijn, windmills everywhere.

For mill fans it's a great area indeed with a rich history.

For the real fans,there is a map with all existing mills and those that have gone in the Netherlands.

That is interesting, TFS. The two mills in my home town (Veenendaal) are there, the mill in Holland Michigan ("De Zwaan") is there, but these on the Greek island of Patmos are not there:
