Two windmills from the same general area as the three above, but not part of the famous "Zaanse Schans". Still the same function, pump out the water from the lower area of the polder.

If I am not mistaken, the mills on my picture had other functions: two wood saw mills and one paint mill (to grind the pigment).


I know that place of your first shot quite well from cycling tours. A nice place near a big lake with some nice restaurants too )

Oops, never too old to learn.

And yes, it's a very nice area for cycling. We had a few excellent days there, both in the dunes as well as the agricultural area behind the dunes. The number of different kind of birds was really amazing.

Indeed! Probably I could dig out some shots of both mills as well, but probably have posted some here already.
